The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot has issued a public notice regarding the surrender of MBBS/BDS seats allotted in Round 1 of NEET UG Counselling 2026 for the state of Punjab.
As per Notice No. 03-BFUHS/Admissions/2026/138 dated September 14, 2026, the seat surrender facility is available to candidates who joined their Round 1 allotted seat and whose seat was retained in Round 2 because they were not upgraded, but who now wish to leave the Round 1 allotted seat.
Eligible candidates can surrender their Round 1 joined seat by physically or personally reporting to the concerned joined college.
The deadline for submitting the surrender request is:
Date: September 15, 2026
Time: Up to 6:00 PM
Security Deposit: No forfeiture if surrendered within the prescribed deadline
Candidates should ensure that they complete the surrender process within the specified date and time.

Candidates wishing to surrender their seat must follow the procedure specified by BFUHS:
Candidates should retain proof or acknowledgement of their surrender request for future reference.
BFUHS has advised candidates to carefully consider the consequences before surrendering their seat.
Once the seat surrender request is submitted at the joined college, the request cannot be reversed.
Therefore, candidates should make their decision only after carefully considering their admission and counselling options.
Candidates must submit their surrender request within the prescribed deadline. Any seat surrender request submitted after 6:00 PM on September 15, 2026 will be governed by the applicable counselling rules and may result in forfeiture of the Security Deposit. Candidates are therefore advised not to wait until the last minute to complete the surrender process.
Candidates should carefully assess their decision before submitting the surrender request because the surrender request is not reversible.
Those who wish to surrender their Round 1 joined MBBS/BDS seat should personally visit the concerned college and submit the written request to the Principal before 6:00 PM on September 15, 2026.Candidates should also follow all applicable Punjab NEET UG counselling rules issued by BFUHS.
