Punjab NEET UG Counselling 2026: BFUHS Releases Draft Round 2 Schedule for MBBS and BDS Admissions

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has issued the draft schedule for the Second Round of Online Counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses under NEET UG 2026 for the academic session 2026.

The schedule has been prepared in continuation of the ongoing counselling process and in accordance with the NEET UG counselling schedule issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for the States.

Candidates participating in Punjab NEET UG counselling should carefully follow the revised timeline for registration, willingness, merit list, choice filling, seat allotment and reporting.

Note: Already registered candidates do not need to register again, but they must submit their willingness to participate in Round 2.

Fresh Registration for Punjab NEET UG Round 2

Candidates who are required to submit a fresh application can register from September 3 to September 5, 2026, up to 5:00 PM.

Candidates who have already registered during the counselling process are not required to register again. However, submission of consent/willingness for participation in Round 2 is mandatory.

Candidates must follow the applicable MCC and Punjab counselling rules while submitting their willingness and security deposit.

NRI Category Candidates

Candidates applying under the NRI Quota must submit the required physical application forms on:

September 7 and September 8, 2026

BFUHS has stated that the Application Form for Eligibility Certificate and the Admission Application Form for NRI candidates are available separately on the University website.

Candidates should complete the required NRI documentation within the prescribed timeline.

Sports Category Candidates

Candidates applying under the Sports Category are required to submit two printed copies of the online application form along with:

  • Sports Gradation Certificate issued by the Director, Sports, Punjab
  • Self-attested copies of supporting documents
  • Relevant sports achievement documents
  • Academic certificates

The documents must be submitted personally at the Admission Branch, BFUHS, Faridkot, on September 7, 2026 only.

Candidates who had already applied under the Sports Category but did not submit the hard copy can also submit the required two sets of documents on September 7. Failure to do so will result in the candidature not being considered for the Sports Category Merit.

Provisional Merit List and Objections

BFUHS will publish the Provisional Merit List on September 8, 2026.

The merit list will include candidates who have submitted fresh applications as well as already registered candidates who have submitted their willingness for Round 2.

Candidates can submit objections against the provisional merit list by September 9, 2026, up to 3:00 PM.

Importantly, objections must be submitted through personal appearance/visit to the Admission Branch, BFUHS, Faridkot, along with relevant documents or records.

Round 2 Choice Filling

Online choice filling for course, college, quota and category will be conducted from:

September 8 to September 10, 2026, up to 5:00 PM

Candidates must submit fresh choices/preferences for Round 2.

Choices submitted during Round 1 will be treated as null and void for Round 2.

Candidates should carefully arrange their preferences because choices will be automatically locked after the last date and time. Requests to modify or change choices after the deadline will not be entertained.

Round 2 Seat Allotment Result

BFUHS will process seat allotment between September 11 and September 12, 2026 based on:

  • Merit
  • Choices/preferences submitted by candidates
  • Applicable counselling rules
  • Course, college, quota and category availability

The Provisional Seat Allotment Result will be displayed on September 12, 2026.

Candidates can submit objections against the provisional seat allotment result up to 4:00 PM on September 14, 2026.

Objections must be submitted through personal appearance at the BFUHS Admission Branch with relevant documents. Objections sent through email will not be entertained.

The revised provisional seat allotment result, if applicable, will be displayed on September 15, 2026.

Fee Payment and Reporting

Provisionally selected candidates must pay the balance fee through the University payment gateway available on the BFUHS website.

The applicable six-month fee will be payable after adjustment/deduction of the security fee amount, wherever applicable.

After fee payment, candidates must report to their respective allotted college for completion of admission and joining formalities.

The reporting and joining window is:

September 16 to September 18, 2026, up to 5:00 PM

Punjab NEET UG Counselling 2026 Application and Security Fees

The applicable registration and security fee details mentioned in the draft schedule are:

Candidates should check the final counselling notification and applicable rules before making payments.

Who Is Eligible for Round 2 Seat Allotment?

BFUHS has specified the following groups of candidates as eligible for Round 2 seat allotment:

Group I

Registered candidates who did not receive any seat allotment in Round 1.

Group II

Registered candidates whose Round 1 allotted seat was cancelled during document verification while reporting for admission. Such candidates may be considered for the next round with changed category, subject to availability of seats in the respective category.

Group III

Candidates who reported at the allotted institute during Round 1 and submitted willingness for Round 2 upgradation as “Yes.”

Group IV

Candidates who were allotted a seat during Round 1 but did not join.

Group V

Candidates who resigned online within the prescribed time from their Round 1 allotted seat at the college.

Candidates Not Eligible for Round 2

The following candidates will not be eligible for Round 2 seat allotment:

  • Candidates who have become ineligible due to inadequate documents under the applicable Punjab Government/MCC eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates who have not registered in Round 1 or Round 2.

Candidates must also submit the required willingness and security deposit according to the applicable Government of India/MCC rules.

Round 1 Candidates Must Submit Willingness

Candidates who received seats during Round 1 must also submit their willingness to participate in Round 2.

The security fee already deposited by eligible candidates will be adjusted according to the applicable rules.

Candidates who have already paid tuition fees exceeding the prescribed security amounts for government or private institutions, as specified by BFUHS, will not have to deposit the security amount again.

What Happens If a Candidate Does Not Join Round 2?

A candidate allotted a seat in Round 2 who does not report or join the allotted college may exit with forfeiture of the security deposit.

Candidates who do not join the allotted Round 2 seat can participate in further counselling rounds subject to the applicable rules, but the Round 2 security amount will be forfeited. Fresh registration and a fresh security deposit may be required for Round 3.

The security deposit will be refunded only when no seat is allotted in Round 2, subject to the applicable rules.

Minority Quota Candidates

Candidates who have applied under the Minority Quota must report to the respective Minority Institution for verification of their eligibility on:

September 7, 2026

Candidates should complete the required verification within the prescribed timeline.
