Punjab NEET UG Counselling 2026: Round 3 Schedule Released for MBBS and BDS, Registration Begins September 28

The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot has released the Revised Schedule for the 3rd Round of UG Medical/Dental Online Punjab State Counselling under NEET UG 2026.

The schedule covers admission to MBBS and BDS courses for the academic session 2026-27. The University has specified separate timelines for seat resignation, vacant seat matrix, fresh registration, willingness and security deposit, NRI quota applications, minority status verification, merit list publication, choice filling, seat allotment and reporting.

The schedule is issued by BFUHS for the third round of Punjab State NEET UG counselling. Candidates should follow the prescribed deadlines carefully.

Seat Surrender Deadline for Round 1 and Round 2 Candidates

Candidates who have joined seats allotted during Round 1 or Round 2 and now wish to surrender or resign from their seats can do so up to:

October 2, 2026, 2:00 PM

The security deposit will be forfeited in case of surrender/resignation as specified in the schedule.

Candidates seeking surrender or resignation must submit their application directly to the Principal of the respective college within the prescribed time.

BFUHS has clarified that applications sent directly to the University through email, post or any other mode will not be entertained or accepted.

Fresh Registration for Punjab NEET UG Round 3

Candidates who are required to register afresh for the third round must complete the online registration/application process and deposit the prescribed application fee through the University Payment Portal.

The application fee is:

General/Other Candidates INR 5,900 including 18% GST
SC Candidates INR 2,950 including 18% GST

Freshly registered candidates must also submit their willingness and deposit the applicable security amount within the prescribed period.

Candidates who fail to submit willingness and/or the required security deposit within the deadline will not be considered for Round 3 counselling.

Security Deposit for Round 3

The security deposit for submission of willingness varies according to the type of college selected:

Private Colleges INR 2,00,000
Government + Private Colleges INR 2,00,000

Candidates opting for both Government and Private Colleges must deposit INR 2,00,000 as the security amount.

Who Must Register Afresh for Round 3?

According to the BFUHS schedule, the following candidates must complete fresh registration for Round 3:

  1. Candidates applying for the first time in Round 3.
  2. Candidates who were allotted a Round 2 seat but did not join the allotted seat.
  3. Candidates whose Round 2 allotment was cancelled during document verification/reporting because of a category change or another reason but remain eligible for further counselling.
  4. Candidates who resigned or surrendered their Round 1 seat after the prescribed free-exit period and no longer hold a seat.

Candidates in these categories must submit fresh registration, willingness, applicable security deposit and choices/preferences according to the Round 3 schedule.

Who Does Not Need Fresh Registration?

Candidates already registered in earlier rounds may not need to register again in certain situations.

This includes:

  • Candidates who were registered but not allotted any seat in Round 1 or Round 2.
  • Candidates who are already registered and continue to hold a Round 1 or Round 2 seat while remaining eligible for Round 3 participation.

Candidates who deposited the prescribed security amount during Round 2 and were not allotted a seat in Round 2 do not have to deposit the security amount again. However, they must submit their willingness to participate in Round 3 through the University Payment Gateway within the prescribed period.

Candidates Eligible for Round 3 Seat Allotment

Candidates who submit willingness and meet the applicable eligibility conditions can be considered for Round 3 allotment.

The eligible groups include:

  • Group I: Registered candidates who did not receive any seat in Round 1 or Round 2.
  • Group II: Candidates whose Round 2 allotment was cancelled during document verification/reporting but who remain eligible for further counselling.
  • Group III: Candidates who joined their Round 2 allotted seat and submitted willingness for Round 3 upgradation.
  • Group IV: Candidates who were allotted a Round 2 seat but did not join and subsequently resigned/surrendered the seat after forfeiture of the applicable security deposit.

Candidates Not Eligible for Round 3 Allotment

Candidates will not be eligible for Round 3 seat allotment if they:

  • Do not fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria.
  • Submit inadequate or invalid documents.
  • Have not registered in Round 1, Round 2 or Round 3, as applicable.
  • Are otherwise rendered ineligible under applicable Government of Punjab notifications, counselling rules or BFUHS instructions.

NRI Quota and Minority Status Verification

Candidates applying under the NRI Quota must submit the prescribed admission application form between:

September 28 and October 1, 2026, up to 2:00 PM.

BFUHS has clarified that the Eligibility Certificate application and NRI Admission Application are separate forms, both of which are available on the University website.

Candidates applying under Sikh Minority or Christian Minority Quota must report to the respective minority institution for verification of minority status.

Candidates whose minority status was already verified during Round 1 or Round 2 do not need to undergo verification again. Candidates who registered under the minority quota earlier but could not complete verification can report for verification for Round 3.

Provisional Merit List and Objections

BFUHS will publish the provisional merit list on October 4, 2026.

Candidates can submit objections against the provisional merit list up to:

October 5, 2026, 4:00 PM

The merit list after consideration of objections, if any, will also be displayed on October 5, 2026.

Choice Filling and Seat Allotment

Candidates participating in Round 3 will have to submit their online course, college, quota and category preferences through the online counselling portal.

The choice-filling window is:

October 6 to October 7, 2026

Seat allotment processing will be conducted from October 8 to October 9, 2026.

The provisional seat allotment/result will be displayed on October 10, 2026.

Objections to Provisional Allotment and Final Result

Candidates who have any objection to the provisional allotment can submit their objection by:

October 11, 2026, up to 3:00 PM

The objection, along with relevant supporting documents or records, must be submitted in person at the Admission Branch, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.

BFUHS has clarified that objections submitted through email, post or any other mode will not be entertained.

The final/revised allotment is scheduled to be declared on October 11, 2026. The final allotment will take into account the data of candidates who have joined seats through MCC Round 3 and will exclude candidates who are no longer eligible for state counselling allotment under the applicable rules.

Fee Payment and Joining

Provisionally selected candidates must pay the balance fee, after adjustment of the security deposit already paid, through the University Payment Gateway.

The balance fee payment and joining period is:

October 12 to October 14, 2026

After paying the prescribed balance fee, candidates must report to their respective allotted colleges and complete the admission and joining formalities within the stipulated period.
