The State NEET UG Medical/Dental Counseling Board 2026, SMS Medical College, Jaipur, has issued an urgent notice regarding the mandatory procedure and deadline for resignation from Round 2 joined state seats under Rajasthan NEET UG 2026 counselling. The notice, bearing reference number State-UG Counseling Board-2026/194, was issued on October 1, 2026.
The notice applies specifically to candidates who have been successfully allotted a seat through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) All India Quota (AIQ) Round 3 and wish to upgrade to their newly allotted AIQ seat. Such candidates can resign from their currently joined Rajasthan state seat during the specified resignation window.
Candidates eligible under this provision can complete the resignation and withdrawal process on October 2 and October 3, 2026. The resignation window will remain open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days.
The counselling board has clearly stated that no request, physical documentation or reporting will be entertained after 5:00 PM on October 3, 2026. Candidates who intend to resign must therefore complete all required formalities within the prescribed deadline.
Candidates seeking to withdraw from their joined Round 2 Rajasthan state seat must physically report to the medical or dental college where they are currently admitted. The candidate must complete the withdrawal formalities at the concerned institution.
At the time of reporting, candidates are required to present their official MCC Round 3 Allotment Letter to the college authorities. The allotment letter will serve as the required evidence of the candidate's new AIQ Round 3 seat.
The counselling board has also made it mandatory for the resignation letter or seat withdrawal slip to be generated online through the official counselling portal by the concerned college.
Candidates have been specifically advised to ensure that the online withdrawal slip is generated successfully. The notice states that manual, handwritten or offline resignation will be treated as null and void.
Therefore, merely submitting a written resignation application or leaving the college without completing the prescribed online process will not constitute a valid resignation under the notified procedure.
The Rajasthan counselling authority has further stated that, in accordance with the applicable MCC guidelines, resignation from a joined Round 2 seat will result in complete forfeiture of the candidate's security deposit.
Candidates should therefore carefully consider the financial consequences before proceeding with resignation.
Candidates who successfully complete their resignation under this special window will also be permanently barred from participating in any subsequent rounds of Rajasthan State NEET UG 2026 Counselling.
The counselling board has directed all participating institutions and candidates to comply strictly with the notified procedure and deadline.
