The Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DMER), Tamil Nadu, through the Selection Committee, has announced an extension of the Tamil Nadu State UG Medical Counselling Round 1 schedule.
According to Notification No. 17/SCS1(1)/2026 dated August 18, 2026, the extension has been made following the extension of the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
As per the revised schedule, candidates participating in Tamil Nadu State UG Medical Counselling Round 1 will now have additional time to complete registration, choice filling and choice locking.
Candidates can register, fill their choices and lock their choices until August 20, 2026, up to 5:00 PM.
After the choice-filling and locking process concludes, the Selection Committee will undertake the seat allotment processing on August 21, 2026.
The Round 1 counselling results will be published on August 22, 2026.

With the extension of the Round 1 counselling schedule, eligible candidates now have until 5:00 PM on August 20, 2026 to complete their choice-filling and choice-locking process.
Candidates should ensure that their choices are properly submitted and locked before the deadline. Once the choice-filling window closes, the Selection Committee will proceed with the seat allotment processing.
The seat allotment processing for Round 1 will be carried out on August 21, 2026.
The Tamil Nadu Selection Committee has scheduled the publication of the Round 1 seat allotment result for August 22, 2026.
Candidates who are allotted seats will be able to download their Allotment Order from August 22.
Candidates allotted seats in Tamil Nadu State UG Medical Counselling Round 1 can download their Allotment Order from August 22 to August 28, 2026, up to 12:00 Noon.
Candidates should carefully check the allotment details and complete the required admission and reporting formalities within the prescribed deadline.
The last date for reporting under Tamil Nadu Round 1 counselling is August 28, 2026, up to 5:00 PM.
Candidates who receive an allotment should therefore ensure that they complete the reporting and admission process before the deadline.
The Tamil Nadu Selection Committee stated that the Round 1 extension has been made in accordance with the MCC notification dated August 17, 2026, regarding the extension of All India Quota counselling.
