All eligible candidates participating in the counselling process must log in and register through the official website upneet.gov.in.

Candidates are required to pay a registration fee of INR 3,000 through the online payment mode. The registration fee is non-refundable under all circumstances.

Candidates must also deposit the prescribed security money. Without payment of the applicable security amount, candidates will not be eligible to participate in the choice-filling process.

UP NEET MDS 2026 Security Money

The security money varies according to the type of MDS seat selected by the candidate.

Seat Type Security Money
Government MDS seats INR 30,000
Private MDS seats INR 1,00,000

Candidates who deposit INR 1,00,000 as security money will be eligible to participate in the counselling process for seats in both government and private dental colleges.

Choice Filling and Locking Mandatory

Candidates will have to fill their preferred government and/or private dental college choices online according to their preference.

There is no prescribed limit on the number of choices that a candidate can fill. However, candidates are advised to select only those colleges in which they are genuinely interested in taking admission if allotted a seat.

After completing online choice filling, choice locking is mandatory. Candidates who fail to lock their choices will automatically be excluded from the seat allotment process, and the responsibility for such exclusion will rest entirely with the candidate.

Admission Process for Government and Private Dental Colleges

For candidates allotted seats in the government sector, the admission process will be completed at the concerned university level.

For candidates allotted seats in private dental colleges, the admission process will be conducted at the designated nodal centres.

The list of nodal centres is available in the NEET MDS 2026 counselling brochure, which can be accessed through the official websites of the Uttar Pradesh counselling authorities.

All reservation certificates for OBC, SC, ST and EWS categories must be issued by the competent authority of Uttar Pradesh in the format prescribed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Reservation certificates issued in the format meant for appointments under the Government of India will not be accepted for this counselling process.
