The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, Uttar Pradesh has issued an important notification regarding the resignation of seats allotted through the First Round of UP NEET UG Counselling 2026.

As per the notice dated September 12, 2026, candidates who were allotted seats in the first round of online counselling and have already taken admission to the allotted MBBS or BDS seat can resign from their admitted seat within the prescribed timeline.

UP NEET UG Counselling 2026: Seat Resignation Deadline

Candidates who have joined the seat allotted to them through Round 1 and now wish to resign must personally report to the concerned nodal centre associated with their admitted seat.

The resignation must be submitted on or before:

Date: September 15, 2026
Time: Up to 5:00 PM

Candidates must appear in person at the concerned nodal centre to complete the seat resignation process.

Who Can Resign From Round 1 Seats?

The facility applies to candidates who:

• Received an allotment through Round 1 of UP NEET UG Counselling 2026.
• Completed admission on the allotted MBBS or BDS seat.
• Now wish to resign from the admitted seat.
• Submit their resignation at the concerned nodal centre within the prescribed deadline.

The notice covers seats in both government and private medical/dental colleges of Uttar Pradesh.

Resignation Must Be Submitted by September 15

Candidates intending to leave their Round 1 admitted seat should not wait until the last moment.

The resignation facility will remain available until 5:00 PM on September 15, 2026. Candidates are required to personally visit the concerned nodal centre and complete the prescribed resignation procedure.

Candidates should follow the applicable provisions of the UP NEET UG 2026 Government Order dated September 1, 2026 and the counselling brochure.

Candidates who want to resign from their Round 1 admitted seat should:

1. Confirm that they were admitted through Round 1 of UP NEET UG Counselling 2026.
2. Identify the nodal centre concerned with their admitted seat.
3. Visit the nodal centre personally.
4. Submit the resignation by 5:00 PM on September 15, 2026.
5. Follow all applicable instructions issued by the counselling authority.
