The Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University (HNBUMU), Dehradun, has issued an important notice for candidates allotted seats in Round 1 of Uttarakhand Centralized NEET UG Counselling 2026.

The notice, published on September 7, 2026, provides the procedure and deadline for candidates who want to surrender, withdraw or resign from their Round 1 allotted seat without forfeiture of the security deposit.

Round 1 Seat Surrender Deadline

Candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 1 based on their merit and choices and have selected the FREEZE option and completed the admission procedure at the allotted institute can surrender their seat without forfeiting the security deposit.

They must personally report to the concerned institute on or before 5:00 PM on September 9, 2026.

Candidates will not be permitted to surrender their Round 1 allotted seat after the prescribed deadline.

FLOAT Candidates Can Also Surrender Seats

Candidates who were allotted a Round 1 seat and selected the FLOAT option can also surrender their allotted seat without forfeiture of the security deposit.

However, FLOAT candidates do not need to physically report to the institute for this purpose. They can surrender the seat by logging into their account using their Login ID and completing the prescribed process.

The deadline for FLOAT candidates is also 5:00 PM on September 9, 2026.

Important Deadline for Both FREEZE and FLOAT Candidates

After 5:00 PM on September 9, 2026, no candidate will be permitted to surrender the Round 1 seat through the notified process.

Candidates Should Complete the Process Before Deadline

Candidates who have decided not to continue with their Round 1 allotted seat should complete the surrender process well before the deadline.

FREEZE candidates who have completed admission should personally visit the concerned institute, while FLOAT candidates should use their registered counselling account to submit the surrender request.Candidates should retain any acknowledgement or confirmation generated after completing the surrender process for future reference.

What Candidates Should Do Now

Candidates who wish to surrender their Round 1 seat should:

1. Check their Round 1 allotment and FREEZE/FLOAT status.
2. Complete the surrender process before 5:00 PM on September 9, 2026.
3. FREEZE candidates should personally report to the concerned institute.
4. FLOAT candidates should log in using their Login ID and complete the online surrender process.
5. Keep proof of the completed surrender request for future reference.
