The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Directorate of Medical Education, Government of West Bengal has issued an important notice regarding the WB NEET UG Medical Dental Counselling 2026.
As per Memo No. HFW-23099/320/2026/M/2344 dated September 9, 2026, a special one-time facility has been provided to certain candidates who remained non-allotted up to Round 2 and could not pay the prescribed security deposit required for participating in choice filling for private medical and dental colleges.
The facility is available to candidates who:
Such candidates can request initialization of their candidature by sending an email from their registered email ID mentioned in the NEET data.
Once their candidature is initialized, eligible candidates will be allowed to re-register their candidature details and pay the registration fee and security deposit afresh from Round 3 onwards.
Candidates interested in using this facility must send their request within the prescribed window.

Candidates should ensure that the request is sent only during the specified period and from the registered email address.
The notice refers to security deposits of INR 2,00,000 and INR 5,00,000, as applicable for choice filling in private medical and dental colleges under the relevant State Quota and Management Quota seats.
Candidates whose candidature is initialized will have to complete the re-registration process and fresh payment of the applicable registration fee and security deposit from Round 3 onwards.
The West Bengal counselling authority has also clarified the position of candidates who had already deposited INR 2,00,000 for Private College State Quota seats only.
Their earlier security deposit will be refunded only after completion of the entire counselling process.
However, the registration fee paid earlier will be forfeited for such candidates.
Candidates should therefore carefully follow the instructions issued by WBMCC regarding further participation and refund.
An important condition has been specified for the upcoming counselling rounds.
From Round 3 onwards, once a candidate is allotted a seat in any medical or dental college, the candidate must complete the admission process.
The notice specifically states that no seat surrender will be allowed from Round 3 onwards.
Candidates participating in Round 3 should therefore fill their choices carefully after considering the college, course, quota and applicable fee requirements.
Candidates allotted seats in private medical or dental colleges have been advised to contact the concerned private college authorities regarding the mode and procedure for payment of college fees.
The notice clarifies that WBMCC will not be responsible for issues related to private college fee payment.
Candidates should verify the applicable fee structure and payment instructions directly with the concerned institution before completing admission formalities.
