The Directorate of Medical Education, Government of West Bengal has issued the revised tentative schedule for Round 1 of WB NEET UG 2026 counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses under State Quota, Private Management Quota and NRI Quota seats in West Bengal.

According to the memorandum dated August 20, 2026, the revised counselling schedule provides candidates another opportunity to complete registration, fee payment, verification, choice filling and other admission-related formalities.

The revised schedule is applicable to candidates who have qualified in NEET UG 2026 and wish to participate in the West Bengal state counselling process.

WB NEET UG 2026 Round 1 Counselling Schedule

Note: All timings are as per the server time wherever specified in the official schedule.

Registration and Fee Payment

Candidates qualified through NEET UG 2026 can participate in the Round 1 counselling process by completing the online registration and fee payment within the specified deadlines.

The revised registration window will remain open from 3:00 PM on August 20, 2026, to 6:00 PM on August 23, 2026. The fee payment facility will remain available until 12 midnight on August 23, 2026.

Candidates are advised to complete both registration and fee payment within the prescribed time to avoid missing the counselling process.

Candidate Verification

After successful registration and fee payment, candidates will undergo verification at the already designated college and allotted time slot through the software.

The official schedule specifies candidate verification on August 14, 17, 18, 21 and 24, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The verification process is not applicable to NRI candidates, who are required to follow the instructions mentioned separately in the counselling notice.

Verified Candidates List and Seat Matrix

The list of successfully verified candidates along with the Round 1 seat matrix will be published on August 25, 2026, after 12 Noon.

Only candidates included in the successfully verified list will proceed to the next stage of the counselling process as per the applicable rules.

Choice Filling and Locking

Verified candidates will be able to fill and lock their college and course preferences from 4:00 PM on August 25 to 4:00 PM on August 27, 2026.

Candidates should carefully select their preferences and complete the choice-locking process within the specified deadline.

WB NEET UG Round 1 Seat Allotment Result

The Round 1 seat allotment result will be published on August 31, 2026, after 4:00 PM.

Candidates who receive an allotment will then have to complete the reporting and admission process at the allotted institute within the specified dates.

Reporting and Admission

The reporting and admission process for allotted candidates will be conducted on September 1, 2, 3 and 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Candidates must report with the required original documents, prescribed college fee and bond, wherever applicable. Physical document verification will be conducted before admission.For candidates allotted seats in private medical colleges, the admission process will be conducted at designated Government Medical Colleges in Kolkata. The related notice will be published on the official website.

For candidates allotted seats in private dental colleges, the admission process will be conducted at Dr. R. Ahmed Dental College.Candidates are advised to carefully follow the reporting instructions issued by the West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee.
