AICTE Saksham Scholarship – Diploma

The AICTE Saksham Scholarship Scheme is designed to support specially abled students pursuing AICTE-approved Technical Diploma courses. The scheme provides financial assistance to help students continue their technical education and build successful careers.

To apply for the Saksham Scholarship (Diploma), the student must:

  • Be specially abled (Divyang) with a minimum 40% disability.

  • Be enrolled in a 1st-year or 2nd-year (lateral entry) of an AICTE-approved Technical Diploma programme.

  • Have taken admission through proper state-level admission procedures.

  • Family income should be less than 8 lakh per year from all sources.

  • Only one student per family can receive this scholarship.

  • Financial Support: ?50,000 per year for the full duration of the diploma.

  • Coverage: Tuition fees, books, stationery, software, equipment, laptops/desktops, and assistive learning devices.

  • Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT): Scholarship amount is transferred directly to the student’s bank account for transparency and security.

  • Support for Special Needs: Helps specially abled students manage extra educational expenses.

  • Encourages Technical Education: Motivates PwD students to pursue AICTE-approved technical diploma courses.

  • No Fee Receipt Required: Students do not need to submit tuition fee receipts; the amount is given as a fixed annual benefit.

  • Aadhaar Card – Unique identification proof of the student.

  • Recent Passport-Size Photograph – Scanned copy for online submission.

  • Admission Certificate / Bonafide Certificate – Proof of enrollment in an AICTE-approved technical diploma course.

  • Marksheet – 10th / 12th or equivalent academic marks as applicable.

  • Disability Certificate – Issued by a competent authority (mandatory for specially abled students).

  • Family Income Certificate – Issued by competent authority to verify income eligibility.

  • Bank Passbook / Account Details – Student’s bank account (name must match Aadhaar).

  • Domicile Certificate – Proof of residence.

  • Category Certificate – If applicable (SC/ST/OBC/EWS).

  • Other Supporting Documents – Any additional documents requested by the institution or portal.

Step 1: Visit the NSP Portal

Go to the official website: National Scholarship Portal (NSP) – scholarships.gov.in


Step 2: New Registration

  1. Click “New Registration” on the homepage.

  2. Read the Guidelines for Registration carefully.

  3. Tick the undertaking/consent box.

  4. Click Continue.


Step 3: Fill the Registration Form

Enter the following details:

  • Login
  • Student Name (as per Aadhaar)  

  • Mobile Number

  • Email ID

  • Gender

  • Bank Account Number & IFSC

  • Aadhaar Number

 An OTP will be sent to your mobile for verification.

After verification, your NSP Application ID will be generated.
(This ID is very important for login.)


Step 4: Login to NSP

  1. Go to Student Login → Select Academic Year.

  2. Enter:

    • Application ID

    • Password

    • Captcha

  3. Click Login.

On first login, you must change your password.


Step 5: Fill the Scholarship Application Form

Complete the form by entering:

  •  Personal Details
  • Religion

  • Category (SC/ST/OBC/General/Minority)

  • Annual Family Income

  • Aadhaar / EID details

 Academic Details

  • Current Course

  • Previous Qualification

  • Roll Number

  • Institution details (Select from dropdown)

 Bank Account Details

  • Your name must match bank account name

  • Provide correct IFSC & account number


Step 6: Upload Required Documents

Documents vary by scholarship but usually include:

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Income Certificate

  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)

  • Bonafide Certificate

  • Marksheet (previous exam)

  • Bank passbook copy

  • Fee Receipt / Admission proof

  • Domicile Certificate

  • Disability Certificate (if applicable)

No. Saksham is available for both Degree and Diploma levels— but this FAQ specifically covers the Diploma version.
