APST Stipend Scheme

The Arunachal Pradesh State Stipend Scheme is a financial assistance program launched by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to support the education of students belonging to the state.
The scheme provides a monthly stipend and book grant to students studying within or outside Arunachal Pradesh to help them afford academic expenses such as books, food, lodging, and study materials.

It aims to promote higher education by reducing financial barriers, especially for students from remote tribal areas of the state.

To be eligible for the State Stipend Scheme, a student must:

  • Be a permanent resident of Arunachal Pradesh.

  • Hold a valid ST Certificate of Arunachal Pradesh (most beneficiaries are Scheduled Tribe students).

  • Be enrolled in a recognized school, college, university, or technical institution in India.

  • Be studying in Class 11 and above (Higher Secondary, UG, PG, Diploma, Professional, Technical Courses).

  • Have passed the previous academic examination.

  • Not be receiving any other state-sponsored stipend or scholarship for the same course.

  • Maintain regular attendance as per institution rules.

Note: Students studying through distance or correspondence mode are generally not eligible unless specified.

Students receive financial support that includes:

A. Monthly Stipend

(Amount may vary slightly based on course category and government updates)

  • Higher Secondary (Class 11 & 12): Approx. 700–900 per month

  • Undergraduate Courses: Approx. 900–1,200 per month

  • Postgraduate Courses: Approx. 1,000–1,400 per month

  • Professional/Technical Courses: Higher monthly stipend as per norms

The stipend helps cover accommodation, food, and basic educational expenses.


B. Annual Book Grant

An annual fixed grant is provided to purchase:

  • Textbooks

  • Stationery

  • Academic materials

This grant generally ranges between 1,000 to 2,000, depending on the course level.


C. Other Benefits (If Applicable)

  • Special allowances for students studying outside the state

  • Hostel allowance (if staying in a private hostel/PG)

  • Extra support for professional courses such as Medical, Engineering, and Law

Students must submit the following documents:

  • ST Certificate (Arunachal Pradesh)

  • Domicile Certificate / PRC

  • Academic marksheet of the previous examination

  • Admission receipt / Bonafide certificate from the institution

  • Bank Passbook (student’s name, Aadhaar-linked)

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Passport-size photograph

  • Fee structure / fee receipt (if required)

  • Hostel certificate (if applying as a hosteller)

The application process is handled through the state’s scholarship portal or offline submission at designated offices.

Step 1: Register Online

  • Visit the Arunachal Pradesh State Scholarship Portal.

  • Register as a new user and create a login account.

Step 2: Fill the Application Form

  • Enter personal details

  • Provide academic information

  • Select the stipend scheme

  • Fill bank account details

Step 3: Upload Documents

  • Upload scanned copies of required documents

  • Ensure clarity and correct format

Step 4: Submit Online Application

  • Review the form

  • Submit online

  • Download or print the acknowledgment if required

Step 5: Verification

The application will undergo:

  1. Institute-level verification

  2. Department/Nodal officer verification

Step 6: Stipend Disbursement

Once approved, the stipend amount is credited directly to the student’s bank account.
