The Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship for ST Students – Goa provides financial assistance to Scheduled Tribe (ST) students studying at the post-matric level in recognized institutions across India. The scheme aims to reduce financial barriers and promote higher education among ST communities by covering tuition fees, maintenance allowances, exam fees, and other academic expenses. Eligible students must apply through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) within the specified timelines.

  • Belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category of Goa.

  • Be a resident of Goa.

  • Have passed Class 10 or equivalent and be pursuing studies at:

    • Class 11 & 12

    • UG / PG / Diploma / Certificate courses

    • Professional & Technical courses

    • M.Phil / PhD

  • Be studying in a recognized institution in Goa or any other state.

  • Have a family annual income not exceeding 2.5 lakh from all sources.

  • Not be receiving any other centrally funded scholarship for the same course.

1. Maintenance Allowance

Paid monthly for hostellers and day scholars depending on the course category.

2. Reimbursement of Compulsory Fees

  • Tuition fees

  • Admission fees

  • Registration fees

  • Examination fees

  • Library charges

  • Laboratory fees

3. Additional Allowances

  • Thesis typing/printing charges

  • Study tour fees

  • Book allowance

  • Disability allowance (if applicable)

4. Full Course Coverage

Benefits continue till course completion if the student maintains academic progress.

  • Aadhaar Card

  • ST Caste Certificate (issued by competent authority of Goa)

  • Income Certificate (not older than 1 year)

  • Domicile Certificate / Residence Certificate

  • Previous year’s marksheet

  • Bonafide certificate from the current institution

  • Bank account number seeded with Aadhaar (preferably student’s account)

  • Fee structure issued by the institution

  • Self-declaration stating non-receipt of any other scholarship

  • Passport-size photograph

Step 1: Visit the NSP Portal

Go to the official website: National Scholarship Portal (NSP) – scholarships.gov.in


Step 2: New Registration

  1. Click “New Registration” on the homepage.

  2. Read the Guidelines for Registration carefully.

  3. Tick the undertaking/consent box.

  4. Click Continue.


Step 3: Fill the Registration Form

Enter the following details:

  • Login
  • Student Name (as per Aadhaar)  

  • Mobile Number

  • Email ID

  • Gender

  • Bank Account Number & IFSC

  • Aadhaar Number

 An OTP will be sent to your mobile for verification.

After verification, your NSP Application ID will be generated.
(This ID is very important for login.)


Step 4: Login to NSP

  1. Go to Student Login → Select Academic Year.

  2. Enter:

    • Application ID

    • Password

    • Captcha

  3. Click Login.

On first login, you must change your password.


Step 5: Fill the Scholarship Application Form

Complete the form by entering:

  •  Personal Details
  • Religion

  • Category (SC/ST/OBC/General/Minority)

  • Annual Family Income

  • Aadhaar / EID details

 Academic Details

  • Current Course

  • Previous Qualification

  • Roll Number

  • Institution details (Select from dropdown)

 Bank Account Details

  • Your name must match bank account name

  • Provide correct IFSC & account number


Step 6: Upload Required Documents

Documents vary by scholarship but usually include:

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Income Certificate

  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)

  • Bonafide Certificate

  • Marksheet (previous exam)

  • Bank passbook copy

  • Fee Receipt / Admission proof

  • Domicile Certificate

  • Disability Certificate (if applicable)

FAQ

ST students who are residents of Goa, studying in Class 11 or above in recognized institutions, and whose family income is within ?2.5 lakh per year can apply.

All post-matric courses are covered, including Class 11–12, UG, PG, Diploma, Professional Courses, M.Phil, and PhD.

The sanctioned amount is directly transferred to the student’s Aadhaar-linked bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
