The Stipend Scheme for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies in ISI (SSUGPGISI) provides monthly stipends and yearly contingency grants to students enrolled in ISI’s official UG, PG, and M.Tech programmes. The stipend begins from admission and continues each semester based on academic performance, attendance, and conduct. All eligible ISI students—B.Stat, B.Math, M.Stat, M.Math, MS(QE), MS(LIS), MS(QMS), and M.Tech—receive financial support automatically without needing a separate application.
B.Stat / B.Math
M.Stat / M.Math / MS(QE) / MS(LIS) / MS(QMS)
M.Tech (CS / CrS / QROR)
PG Diploma (only North East domicile)
Stipend is continued only if:
No course score falls below 35% (or 45% for certain core courses).
Not more than one course below 45% (two in first semester).
Average composite score is ≥60% for full stipend.
Average 45%–60% → half stipend.
Failing continuation requirements → stipend withdrawn.
Must maintain 75% attendance in all courses.
If below 75% → no stipend next semester.
ISI may withdraw stipend for misconduct on campus.
If student receives another government scholarship → ISI stipend stops.
If received retrospectively, stipend must be returned.
