, the Government of Himachal Pradesh introduced the Kalpana Chawla Chhatravriti Yojna as a Post 10+2 Scholarship Scheme to encourage meritorious girl students for higher education.

The scholarship is awarded every year to the top 2,000 meritorious girl students across Science, Arts, and Commerce streams, based on the merit list issued by the H.P. Board of School Education, Dharamshala, for Class 12 examinations.

  1. Only girl students from Himachal Pradesh are eligible.

  2. Merit is based on passing ratio in each study group (Science, Arts, Commerce) as per the HPBOSE merit list.

  3. The student must take regular admission in any recognized post 10+2 academic, professional, or technical course in a Government-aided or recognized private institution.

  4. The scholarship continues yearly only if the student passes each year without failure.

1. Annual Scholarship Amount – 15,000

According to NSP portal, each selected girl student will receive 15,000 per year under this scholarship scheme.

The scholarship benefits 2,000 top-performing girl students from Science, Arts, and Commerce streams every year based on the HPBOSE Class 12 merit list.

The scholarship can be used for any recognized academic, professional, or technical course after Class 12, whether in a Government or recognized private institution.

The benefit continues each academic year until the student completes her degree/diploma/certificate course, provided she passes all subjects without failure.

Step 1: Visit the NSP Portal

Go to the official website: National Scholarship Portal (NSP) – scholarships.gov.in


Step 2: New Registration

  1. Click “New Registration” on the homepage.

  2. Read the Guidelines for Registration carefully.

  3. Tick the undertaking/consent box.

  4. Click Continue.


Step 3: Fill the Registration Form

Enter the following details:

  • Login
  • Student Name (as per Aadhaar)  

  • Mobile Number

  • Email ID

  • Gender

  • Bank Account Number & IFSC

  • Aadhaar Number

 An OTP will be sent to your mobile for verification.

After verification, your NSP Application ID will be generated.
(This ID is very important for login.)


Step 4: Login to NSP

  1. Go to Student Login → Select Academic Year.

  2. Enter:

    • Application ID

    • Password

    • Captcha

  3. Click Login.

On first login, you must change your password.


Step 5: Fill the Scholarship Application Form

Complete the form by entering:

  •  Personal Details
  • Religion

  • Category (SC/ST/OBC/General/Minority)

  • Annual Family Income

  • Aadhaar / EID details

 Academic Details

  • Current Course

  • Previous Qualification

  • Roll Number

  • Institution details (Select from dropdown)

 Bank Account Details

  • Your name must match bank account name

  • Provide correct IFSC & account number


Step 6: Upload Required Documents

Documents vary by scholarship but usually include:

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Income Certificate

  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)

  • Bonafide Certificate

  • Marksheet (previous exam)

  • Bank passbook copy

  • Fee Receipt / Admission proof

  • Domicile Certificate

  • Disability Certificate (if applicable)
