FAE–Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM (Post-Matric)

The Ministry of Labour & Employment provides Financial Assistance for Education to the children of:

  • Beedi workers

  • Iron Ore, Manganese Ore & Chrome Ore mine workers

  • Limestone & Dolomite mine workers

  • Mica mine workers

  • Cine workers

The scholarship amount ranges from 1,000 to 25,000 per year, depending on the course.
Benefits are transferred directly to students through the DBT system.

  • Parent’s Occupation:
    At least one parent must be a Beedi, Cine, Iron Ore, Manganese Ore, Chrome Ore, Limestone, Dolomite, or Mica worker with a minimum of six months of service. Contract and home-based workers are also included.

  • Income Limit:

    • Beedi workers: 10,000 per month or less

    • Mine workers (manual/unskilled/skilled/clerical): No wage limit

    • Mine workers (supervisory/managerial): 10,000 per month or less

    • Cine workers: 8,000 per month (monthly pay) or 1,00,000 (lump-sum income)

  • Student Performance:
    Student must have passed the last qualifying exam in the first attempt.
    Students promoted to the next class are also eligible.

  • Mode of Study:
    Only regular courses in recognized institutions are eligible. Correspondence/distance courses are not allowed.

  • Institution Type:
    The educational institution must be Government or Government-recognized.

  • Other Scholarships:
    Students receiving scholarships or stipends from any other source are not eligible.

  • Bank Account & Mobile:
    Each student must have:

    • A separate bank account (student’s name must be first in joint account)

    • A separate mobile number

  • Disqualification Conditions:
    Scholarship can be cancelled for:

    • False information

    • Discontinuing studies

    • Changing course or institution without approval

    • Poor progress, irregular attendance, misconduct

    • Parent ceasing to be a worker in the eligible category

  • Financial Assistance for Education
    Eligible students receive annual scholarship amounts ranging from 1,000 to 25,000 depending on their class or course.

  • Covers Wide Range of Studies
    Benefits are available for students from Class I to Professional Courses, including ITI, Polytechnic, Degree, and Medical/Professional studies.

  • Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
    Scholarship amount is deposited directly into the student’s bank account, ensuring fast and transparent payment.

  • Support for Multiple Children
    More than one child of the same eligible worker can receive the scholarship, each with a separate bank account.

  • Promoted Students Eligible
    Even if a student is simply promoted to the next class, they are still eligible to receive the scholarship.

  • Supports Workers in Several Sectors
    Especially benefits families of workers in Beedi, Mine (IOMC, LSDM), Cine, and Mica sectors who often face financial hardship.

Step 1: Visit the NSP Portal

Go to the official website: National Scholarship Portal (NSP) – scholarships.gov.in


Step 2: New Registration

  1. Click “New Registration” on the homepage.

  2. Read the Guidelines for Registration carefully.

  3. Tick the undertaking/consent box.

  4. Click Continue.


Step 3: Fill the Registration Form

Enter the following details:

  • Login
  • Student Name (as per Aadhaar)  

  • Mobile Number

  • Email ID

  • Gender

  • Bank Account Number & IFSC

  • Aadhaar Number

 An OTP will be sent to your mobile for verification.

After verification, your NSP Application ID will be generated.
(This ID is very important for login.)


Step 4: Login to NSP

  1. Go to Student Login → Select Academic Year.

  2. Enter:

    • Application ID

    • Password

    • Captcha

  3. Click Login.

On first login, you must change your password.


Step 5: Fill the Scholarship Application Form

Complete the form by entering:

  •  Personal Details
  • Religion

  • Category (SC/ST/OBC/General/Minority)

  • Annual Family Income

  • Aadhaar / EID details

 Academic Details

  • Current Course

  • Previous Qualification

  • Roll Number

  • Institution details (Select from dropdown)

 Bank Account Details

  • Your name must match bank account name

  • Provide correct IFSC & account number


Step 6: Upload Required Documents

Documents vary by scholarship but usually include:

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Income Certificate

  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)

  • Bonafide Certificate

  • Marksheet (previous exam)

  • Bank passbook copy

  • Fee Receipt / Admission proof

  • Domicile Certificate

  • Disability Certificate (if applicable)
