• Only girl students are eligible.

• The student must belong to a Balmiki family.

• Family members should be engaged in unclean occupations (certificate required).

• The student must be studying beyond matriculation level in any recognized government or private college/professional institution in HP.

• Candidate must clear the examination every year to continue receiving the scholarship.

• Old Amount: 9,000 per year

• Revised Amount: 18,000 per year

This increase was approved in the Vidhan Sabha Budget 2022–23.

• Certificate from competent authority verifying:

  • The student belongs to a Balmiki family.

  • The family is engaged in unclean occupation.

• Bonafide student certificate from the institution.

• Prescribed application form (provided by the Head of Institution).

• Previous year’s passed mark sheet (proof of clearing exams).

• Aadhaar, bank details, photograph (common scholarship requirements).

Step 1: Visit the NSP Portal

Go to the official website: National Scholarship Portal (NSP) – scholarships.gov.in

Step 2: New Registration

1. Click “New Registration” on the homepage.

2. Read the Guidelines for Registration carefully.

3. Tick the undertaking/consent box.

4. Click Continue.

Step 3: Fill the Registration Form

Enter the following details:

• Login

• Student Name (as per Aadhaar)  

• Mobile Number

• Email ID

• Gender

• Bank Account Number & IFSC

• Aadhaar Number

 An OTP will be sent to your mobile for verification.

After verification, your NSP Application ID will be generated.
(This ID is very important for login.)

Step 4: Login to NSP

1. Go to Student Login → Select Academic Year.

2. Enter:

   • Application ID

   • Password

   • Captcha

3. Click Login.

On first login, you must change your password.

Step 5: Fill the Scholarship Application Form

Complete the form by entering:

•  Personal Details

• Religion

• Category (SC/ST/OBC/General/Minority)

• Annual Family Income

• Aadhaar / EID details

 Academic Details

• Current Course

• Previous Qualification

• Roll Number

• Institution details (Select from dropdown)

 Bank Account Details

• Your name must match bank account name

• Provide correct IFSC & account number

Step 6: Upload Required Documents

Documents vary by scholarship but usually include:

• Aadhaar Card

• Income Certificate

• Caste Certificate (if applicable)

• Bonafide Certificate

• Marksheet (previous exam)

• Bank passbook copy

• Fee Receipt / Admission proof

• Domicile Certificate

• Disability Certificate (if applicable)
