• Must have secured admission in top national-level institutions, such as:

  • IITs, NITs, IIITs

  • AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER

  • IIMs

  • NLUs (via CLAT)

  • ICAR National Universities

  • IISERs, IISc

  • Institutes of National Importance

3. Course Type

The student must be admitted to a professional course, such as:

• UG Professional Programs: MBBS, BDS, B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Sc Nursing, Allied Health, Agriculture, Forestry, Law (NLUs), etc.

• PG Programs: M.Tech, MBA (IIM), M.Sc Agriculture, LLM (NLU), etc.

• Diploma Programs: Only if offered by premier national institutes (AIIMS, ICAR, IIT, etc.)

• PhD Programs: Only in IITs, NITs, AIIMS, IISERs, ICAR, NLUs, Central Universities.

4. Exam-Based Admission

• Admission must be through national-level competitive exams such as JEE, NEET, CLAT, ICAR, CUET, CAT, GATE, etc.

5. Not Eligible

• Admission in state universities, private colleges, or regular institutions.

• General courses (BA, B.Com, B.Sc) unless in Central or Nationally Recognized Institutions.

Step 1: Visit the NSP Portal

Go to the official website: National Scholarship Portal (NSP) – scholarships.gov.in

Step 2: New Registration

1. Click “New Registration” on the homepage.

2. Read the Guidelines for Registration carefully.

3. Tick the undertaking/consent box.

4. Click Continue.

Step 3: Fill the Registration Form

Enter the following details:

• Login

• Student Name (as per Aadhaar)  

• Mobile Number

• Email ID

• Gender

• Bank Account Number & IFSC

• Aadhaar Number

 An OTP will be sent to your mobile for verification.

After verification, your NSP Application ID will be generated.
(This ID is very important for login.)

Step 4: Login to NSP

1. Go to Student Login → Select Academic Year.

2. Enter:

   • Application ID

   • Password

   • Captcha

3. Click Login.

On first login, you must change your password.

Step 5: Fill the Scholarship Application Form

Complete the form by entering:

•  Personal Details

• Religion

• Category (SC/ST/OBC/General/Minority)

• Annual Family Income

• Aadhaar / EID details

 Academic Details

• Current Course

• Previous Qualification

• Roll Number

• Institution details (Select from dropdown)

 Bank Account Details

• Your name must match bank account name

• Provide correct IFSC & account number

Step 6: Upload Required Documents

Documents vary by scholarship but usually include:

• Aadhaar Card

• Income Certificate

• Caste Certificate (if applicable)

• Bonafide Certificate

• Marksheet (previous exam)

• Bank passbook copy

• Fee Receipt / Admission proof

• Domicile Certificate

• Disability Certificate (if applicable)
