The Top Class Education Scheme provides full financial support to OBC/EBC/DNT students pursuing higher education beyond Class 12 in top institutions like IITs, IIMs, NITs, AIIMS, NIFT, NLUs, etc. It covers full tuition fees, living expenses, books, and a laptop. Students must have family income ≤ 2.5 lakh and gain admission based on merit in a notified institution. Applications are submitted through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) each year.
Must belong to OBC / EBC / DNT categories.
Annual family income ≤ 2.50 lakh from all sources.
Must have secured admission in a full-time course in a notified “Top Class” institution.
Selection must be according to regular admission criteria / entrance rank of the institution.
Each institution has a fixed number of scholarship slots.
If eligible students > available slots → Top-ranking students (inter-se merit) receive scholarship first.
For tie in marks → student with lower income gets preference.
30% seats reserved for girls, transferable to boys if not enough girl applicants.
Maximum 2 siblings from one family can receive the scheme.
Scholarship stops if the student fails to get promoted to next semester.
Priority is given to OBC candidates over EBC/DNT.
The scheme covers:
IITs, IIMs, NITs, IIITs, AIIMS, NIFT, NID, NLUs, IHMs
Any institution that is:
NAAC A++ / A+, or
Top 100 in NIRF, or
Institution of National Importance, or
Government DGCA-approved pilot training institutes
Institutions must apply to be included in this scheme.
Up to 2.00 lakh per year for private colleges
Up to 3.72 lakh per year for flying clubs (Pilot training)
3,000 per month per student
5,000 per year
Up to 45,000 for a laptop with printer & accessories
All payments go directly to the student via DBT.
Student must submit the college fee within 1 month of receiving the scholarship.

Click “New Registration” on the homepage.
Read the Guidelines for Registration carefully.
Tick the undertaking/consent box.
Click Continue.
Enter the following details:
Student Name (as per Aadhaar)
Mobile Number
Email ID
Gender
Bank Account Number & IFSC
Aadhaar Number
An OTP will be sent to your mobile for verification.
After verification, your NSP Application ID will be generated.
(This ID is very important for login.)
Go to Student Login → Select Academic Year.
Enter:

Click Login.
On first login, you must change your password.
