According to the official “Post Matric Scholarships to the Students Belonging to Scheduled Castes for Studies in India (2020-21 to 2025-26)” guidelines, the scheme aims to increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) of Scheduled Caste (SC) students in higher education by providing financial assistance for studies after Class 10.
The scholarship supports SC students of Goa to pursue Class 11–12, UG, PG, Diploma, Professional, Technical & Ph.D. courses in recognized institutions. Assistance is given for compulsory fees, academic allowance, and other admissible expenses, ensuring no SC student is deprived of education due to financial constraints.

  • Must be a citizen of India.

  • Must belong to Scheduled Caste (SC) category.

  • Must be domicile of the State/UT where applying.

  • Must have passed Class 10/Matriculation and taken admission in any post-matric course (Class 11 to Post-Doctoral)

  • Divyang (PwD) students get additional disability allowance as per scheme norms.

4?? No Hostel / Tuition Fees Charged

Institutions cannot charge any fee from SC students covered under this scheme.

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Caste Certificate (SC)

  • Income Certificate (not older than 1 year) – up to 2.5 lakh limit

  • Residential / Domicile Certificate

  • Last Exam Passed Marksheet (Class 10/12/UG/PG etc.)

  • Bank Account in student’s name (preferably Aadhaar-linked)

Step 1: Visit the NSP Portal

Go to the official website: National Scholarship Portal (NSP) – scholarships.gov.in


Step 2: New Registration

  1. Click “New Registration” on the homepage.

  2. Read the Guidelines for Registration carefully.

  3. Tick the undertaking/consent box.

  4. Click Continue.


Step 3: Fill the Registration Form

Enter the following details:

  • Login
  • Student Name (as per Aadhaar)  

  • Mobile Number

  • Email ID

  • Gender

  • Bank Account Number & IFSC

  • Aadhaar Number

 An OTP will be sent to your mobile for verification.

After verification, your NSP Application ID will be generated.
(This ID is very important for login.)


Step 4: Login to NSP

  1. Go to Student Login → Select Academic Year.

  2. Enter:

    • Application ID

    • Password

    • Captcha

  3. Click Login.

On first login, you must change your password.


Step 5: Fill the Scholarship Application Form

Complete the form by entering:

  •  Personal Details
  • Religion

  • Category (SC/ST/OBC/General/Minority)

  • Annual Family Income

  • Aadhaar / EID details

 Academic Details

  • Current Course

  • Previous Qualification

  • Roll Number

  • Institution details (Select from dropdown)

 Bank Account Details

  • Your name must match bank account name

  • Provide correct IFSC & account number


Step 6: Upload Required Documents

Documents vary by scholarship but usually include:

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Income Certificate

  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)

  • Bonafide Certificate

  • Marksheet (previous exam)

  • Bank passbook copy

  • Fee Receipt / Admission proof

  • Domicile Certificate

  • Disability Certificate (if applicable)
