Established in the year 1998, by Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Act 13, 1998. Over a sprawling Campus of about 247 acres, the Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya is marching towards development into a center of excellence in the arena of Technical Education, Research and Innovations. Under its umbrella there are 05 UTD's , 200 affiliated Engineering Colleges, 98 Pharmacy Colleges, 95 MCA Colleges and 04 Architecture Colleges imparting Graduate level instructions running around 17 under graduate level courses, 85 Polytechnic institutions offering diploma courses in emerging and conventional disciplines. Situated amidst an aesthetic and hilly surrounding, the University is now offering Ph Ds and 11 post.

Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya course admissions 2025 are expected to open soon. Candidates can get admission to the university by following the basic selection process. RGPV offers over 50 courses at the UG, PG and PhD levels covering streams such as Management, Science, Engineering and Pharmacy. Of all the courses, the University is popularly known for BTech, MTech, MCA and diploma programmes. RGPV admission to all courses is both merit and entrance-based. The university accepts scores of national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main, GATE, CMAT, NATA, etc. Furthermore, as per the RGPV admission process, a common counselling process of DTE MP is for the final seat allotment.

All the courses at the University campus are offered across five constituent schools, namely the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Information Technology, School of Energy Technology, School of Biotechnology and School of Nano-technology. In addition to this, it also has a University Institute of Technology that offers UG and PG Engineering courses. Apart from the regular courses, it also offers distance learning courses via Distance Learning EDUSAT.
