UPL University of Sustainable Technology

UPL University of Sustainable Technology (UPLUST) is a private university located in Ankleshwar, Bharuch district of Gujarat, India. The university was officially established in 2021 under the Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009, with the objective of promoting higher education in the field of sustainable development, engineering, science, and technology.

The university evolved from the Shroff S. R. Rotary Institute of Chemical Technology (SRICT), which was founded in 2011 to provide specialized education in chemical engineering and allied sciences. Over time, the institute expanded its academic programs and infrastructure, ultimately gaining university status.

UPL University was established by the Ankleshwar Rotary Education Society (ARES) with the aim of creating a world-class institution focused on sustainable technology, industry-oriented learning, and research innovation. The university emphasizes practical training, environmental sustainability, and industry collaboration, preparing students to address global challenges related to climate change, energy, agriculture, and industrial processes.

The campus covers approximately 25 acres and provides modern academic facilities including laboratories, libraries, hostels, workshops, and research centers. Students benefit from industry-focused learning environments and internships with nearby industrial hubs such as the Ankleshwar industrial estate, one of the largest chemical industrial zones in Asia.

The university offers a wide range of programs across engineering, science, management, and research disciplines. Courses include undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs such as B.E., M.E., B.Sc., M.Sc., Diploma Engineering, and Ph.D. programs. These programs are designed to integrate sustainability concepts with modern technology and industrial applications.

UPL University focuses heavily on industry-academia collaboration. Many programs include internships, industry training, and research projects conducted in partnership with industrial organizations. The university also operates specialized research facilities such as environmental laboratories and process safety centers that provide consultancy and technical services to industries.
