The Office of the Director of Medical Education, Assam, has extended the online registration deadline for the first round of counselling for admission to postgraduate medical seats under the Assam State Quota for the 2026 session.

As per the educational notice dated October 29, 2026, candidates can complete online registration until October 31, 2026, at 11:55 PM. The counselling is being conducted for 50% of postgraduate seats in government medical colleges across Assam and the B.B.C.I., Guwahati.

The notice also confirms an extension of the cut-off date for completion of rural or remote service under Rule 5(v) of the Medical Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into Post Graduate Degree and Diploma Courses) Rules, 2021, to June 15, 2026.

Assam NEET PG Counselling 2026: Revised Schedule

Candidates should follow the revised schedule announced by DME Assam.

Candidates must complete choice filling and locking within the specified deadlines. Choices will be locked automatically if a candidate does not lock them manually before the deadline.

Seat Allotment and Result

DME Assam will process seat allotments from November 3 to November 4, 2026. The college-wise and subject-wise list of provisionally selected candidates is scheduled to be published on November 5, 2026, along with the admission modalities.

Candidates who receive seats must report to their respective allotted institutions between November 9 and November 10, 2026, to complete the admission process.

Rural and Remote Service Cut-Off Date Extended

The Assam government has approved an extension of the cut-off date for completing rural or remote service under the applicable postgraduate admission rules. The revised cut-off date is June 15, 2026.
