The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Assam has officially revised the admission schedule for Undergraduate (UG) Admissions 2026–27 under the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). According to the latest notification, the registration and programme selection process, which was earlier scheduled to commence on 5 July 2026, will now begin on 8 July 2026.

As per the revised timeline, candidates seeking admission through CUET UG 2026 can complete their online registration and programme selection from 8 July to 13 July 2026 through the Assam SAMARTH Admission Portal. During this period, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) will simultaneously scrutinise the submitted applications.

The application correction window will remain open from 14 July to 15 July 2026, allowing candidates to rectify any errors in their submitted application forms. The corrected applications will be verified by the participating institutions between 16 July and 18 July 2026.

The first CUET merit list will be published on 19 July 2026, followed by admissions on 21 and 22 July 2026. The second merit list is scheduled for release on 23 July 2026, while admissions under the second list will be conducted on 25 and 26 July 2026.

Candidates who remain unallotted after the merit rounds will have an opportunity to participate in the CUET Spot Admission on 28 July 2026. Additionally, the Final Registration-cum-Spot Admission for Non-CUET applicants will be conducted from 29 July to 31 July 2026.

The Directorate has also announced that first-semester classes for the academic session 2026–27 will commence on 1 August 2026. All applicants and participating Higher Education Institutions have been advised to follow the revised admission schedule and complete the necessary procedures within the stipulated deadlines.

The entire admission process will be conducted through the Assam SAMARTH Admission Portal, and candidates are advised to regularly visit the portal for further updates regarding merit lists, counselling, and admissions.Click here
