Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) has officially published the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for admission to its In-Campus B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) programme for the 2026–27 academic session. The university has announced the complete counselling schedule, eligibility criteria, admission process, and important instructions for applicants.

According to the notification, the counselling and admission process will be conducted from 20 July to 22 July 2026. On 20 July, counselling will be held for JEE Main 2026 qualified candidates followed by Assam CEE 2026 qualified candidates. Additional counselling sessions for CEE-qualified candidates will continue on 21 July 2026.

Candidates selected under the JEE and CEE categories must report at the counselling venue before the specified reporting time. Those who fail to attend within the scheduled time may lose their allotted opportunity, and the seat will be offered to the next eligible candidate according to the merit list.

The university has also announced that 22 July 2026 has been reserved for candidates seeking admission against any remaining vacant seats. On the same day, ASTU Entrance Examination 2026, consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The entrance examination will be open to all eligible applicants who have applied for the in-campus B.Tech programme. Admission through the entrance test will be offered only if seats remain vacant after JEE Main and Assam CEE admissions.

As per the eligibility criteria, candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Mathematics, and one prescribed optional subject. Applicants must also be resident citizens of Assam, should be at least 17 years of age as on 1 July 2026, and satisfy the University's physical and moral fitness requirements.

The admission process will follow a priority-based selection system. The first 10 seats will be filled based on JEE Main 2026 ranks, followed by admissions through Assam CEE 2026 merit, while any remaining vacant seats will be filled through the ASTU Entrance Examination.

Candidates attending counselling must carry all original documents along with self-attested photocopies, including educational certificates, JEE/CEE scorecards (where applicable), identity proof, category certificates, photographs, and other prescribed documents. Selected candidates will be required to pay an admission fee of ?70,000 immediately after counselling to confirm their allotted seat. The university has clarified that only online payment modes will be accepted, and failure to pay the fee within the prescribed time will result in cancellation of the allotted seat.
