The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Chhattisgarh, has issued a notice regarding document verification for candidates claiming Non-Resident Indian (NRI) eligibility for state-level NEET PG counselling 2026.

The notice, dated October 21, 2026, applies to candidates seeking admission to postgraduate MD/MS courses under NRI quota seats in private medical colleges across Chhattisgarh.

The verification process will follow the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) guidelines issued through notice U-11011/07/2025-MEC dated May 27, 2026, and Rules 4(a) and 4(b) of the Chhattisgarh Medical Postgraduate Admission Rules, 2025.

NEET PG 2026 NRI Document Verification: Important Dates

Candidates must send their documents within the specified period. Applications and documents received after the deadline will not be considered.

How to Submit Documents for NRI Eligibility

Candidates claiming NRI eligibility must email the required supporting documents to the designated email address. The DME has specified the following submission requirements:

• Submit clear, readable, colour-scanned copies of all required original documents.

• Arrange the documents in the prescribed order and combine them into one single PDF file.

• Do not send black-and-white scans or documents that are difficult to read, as these will not be accepted.

• Use the prescribed email subject line: NEET PG 2026 – NRI Quota Document Verification Candidate Name - NEET Roll Number.

• Submit the complete documents before October 27, 2026, at 5:00 PM.

The required documents for establishing NRI eligibility are listed in Annexure 1 attached to the official notification.

NRI Eligibility Verification and Seat Allotment

The verification committee will examine the submitted applications and supporting documents according to the applicable rules and guidelines.

Only candidates included in the eligible list will be considered for NRI quota seat allotment. Candidates found ineligible for the NRI quota will not receive seats under that quota. However, their applications will not be cancelled solely because they fail to qualify for NRI eligibility. They may continue participating in counselling under another category for which they are eligible.

Is Separate Registration Required for NRI Quota?

The DME has clarified that candidates claiming NRI eligibility do not need to complete separate registration or separate choice filling for the NRI quota.

However, all candidates must complete the regular online counselling registration, pay the prescribed fee and fill in their choices according to the official counselling schedule.

Sending documents by email does not count as completing online counselling registration. Candidates must complete both the NRI document submission process and the regular online counselling formalities.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Candidates should carefully follow these instructions to avoid problems during counselling:

• Ensure that all scanned documents are complete, clear and readable.

• Submit all required documents together in a single PDF file.

• Follow the prescribed email subject format and submit documents before the deadline.

• Complete regular online registration, fee payment and choice filling separately.

• Keep the original documents available for verification during admission.

At the time of admission, the scrutiny and admission committee will compare the documents submitted by email with the original documents. If any document is found to be false or misleading, action may be taken under the applicable rules.
