Dr. NTR UHS Opens Phase-I Web Options for BDS Management Quota Counselling 2026–27; Apply by October 11

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr. NTR UHS), Vijayawada, has issued a notification for Phase-I counselling for admission to Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses under the Management Quota for the academic year 2026–27. The notification, dated October 9, 2026, invites eligible candidates to exercise web options for Category B1, Category B2 and Category C (NRI) seats in private unaided non-minority and minority dental colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

According to the university, candidates whose names appear in the updated Final Merit Position of Management Quota published on October 2, 2026, are eligible to exercise web options according to the seat matrix available on the official website. Candidates should carefully read the eligibility conditions and counselling regulations before selecting their preferred colleges.

Candidates must submit their college preferences within the specified window. The university has stated that options, once exercised, will be final after the web options schedule closes. Requests to change the options or the order of college preferences will not be entertained. Candidates are advised to save and print a copy of their submitted options.

Eligibility for Category B1, B2 and Category C (NRI) Seats

The university has specified separate eligibility conditions for the different Management Quota categories.

Category B1: Candidates from Andhra Pradesh and other parts of India are eligible, subject to the applicable admission regulations. B1 seats will be filled first in each college according to merit and the preferences submitted by candidates.

Category B2: Only eligible local candidates of Andhra Pradesh can exercise options for B2 seats. These seats will be filled after the B1 seats in a college have been exhausted, according to merit and candidate preferences.

Category C (NRI): Only candidates eligible under the NRI category and included in the relevant merit list can exercise options for these seats. Eligible applicants may include actual NRI candidates, foreign students, eligible OCI/PIO cardholders and specified children or blood relatives of NRIs, subject to the university's detailed eligibility requirements and supporting documents.

Candidates should review the university's notification dated September 13, 2026, for the complete eligibility rules, particularly for NRI quota admissions.

BDS Management Quota Seat Availability

As per Annexure I of the notification, the Phase-I seat matrix for private unaided non-minority dental colleges includes the following seats:

The notification also lists Management Quota seats at Nimra Institute of Dental Sciences, Jupudi, under the private unaided minority college category. The university's published seat matrix should be checked for the applicable category-wise availability before exercising options.

BDS Tuition Fees for the 2026–27 Academic Year

The notification states that the interim tuition fee for Management Quota seats is subject to the applicable Government of Andhra Pradesh orders and the outcome of W.P. Nos. 32975, 33162 and 35090 of 2022.

The stated interim tuition fee for Category B seats is INR 4,84,000 per annum. For Category C (NRI) seats, the annual tuition fee varies by college and may be as high as INR 14,52,000.

Selected candidates must also pay the applicable university fee through the online payment gateway to download their allotment order.

How to Exercise BDS Web Options

Eligible candidates can follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://apuhs-ugadmissions.aptonline.in/BDS/Home/StudentLogin.

  2. Log in using the required candidate credentials.

  3. Review the available colleges and seat matrix.

  4. Select the interested dental colleges in order of preference, ensuring the choices match the candidate's eligibility.

  5. Enter and submit the web options using the required OTP verification.

  6. Save and print the submitted options for future reference.

Candidates should keep their login credentials, registered email address and OTPs confidential. The university states that original certificates will be verified at the allotted college. Provisional allotment may be cancelled if a candidate is found ineligible or if discrepancies or false documents are identified.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Candidates allotted a seat must download their allotment order, pay the applicable university fee online, and report to the allotted college with the original certificates before the reporting deadline stated in the allotment order. They must also pay the prescribed tuition fee and college fee to complete admission. Failure to report within the specified period will result in automatic cancellation of admission.

For private unaided minority dental colleges, only eligible Muslim minority candidates can exercise options for minority Management Quota seats. If eligible Muslim minority candidates are unavailable, the seats may be allotted to non-minority candidates during the Stray Round, as specified in the notification.

The university has also clarified that NRI quota seats remaining vacant after exhausting choices from NRI applicants will be treated as NRI lapsed seats and filled during Phase III (Mop-Up) or subsequent counselling phases, only with candidates who applied under the NRI Lapsed category.

Candidates who do not report to a seat allotted in Phase I may participate in Phase II counselling, subject to the applicable rules. However, the specific Phase-I Management Quota seat marked as not reported will not be available for that candidate to select in Phase II.
