Gauhati University (GU) has issued an important notification announcing that all admissions to the Five-Year Integrated LL.B. Programme for the academic session 2026–27 have been kept in abeyance until further orders.
According to the official notification dated 3 July 2026, the decision has been taken following reports of alleged irregularities in the admission process conducted on the basis of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 merit and rank list prepared by Gauhati University.
The university clarified that no further admission process for the Five-Year Integrated LL.B. Programme will continue until fresh instructions are issued by the competent authority. The notification has been released with the approval of the university authorities.
Copies of the notification have been forwarded to the Academic Registrar, Secretary of University Classes, Principals of all concerned colleges, the Samarth Nodal Officer, and other university officials for necessary action and compliance.
Candidates who were waiting for admission or had already participated in the counselling process are advised to regularly monitor the official Gauhati University website for further announcements regarding the status of admissions and any revised schedule.The university is expected to issue additional instructions once the matter is reviewed and the admission process is cleared to resume.Click here
