The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has released an important notification regarding corrections to the State Merit List and merit lists prepared on the basis of the NEET UG 2026 results. The notice, dated October 11, 2026, has been issued under Advertisement No. JCECEB/46/26-97.

The Board had earlier published Advertisement No. JCECEB/46/26-47 dated August 6, 2026, and Advertisement Nos. JCECEB/46/26-52 and 53 dated August 8, 2026, for preparing merit lists for the first, second, third and stray vacancy rounds of online counselling for admission to MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses.

Following representations from candidates seeking opportunities to correct their category and other particulars, JCECEB has clarified the procedure for submitting correction requests. Candidates whose names appeared in the merit lists published on September 25 and September 28, 2026, have been directed to submit fresh applications for eligible minor corrections within the prescribed period.

Jharkhand NEET UG 2026 Merit List Correction: Important Dates

Candidates must ensure that their applications reach the designated email address before the deadline. According to the notice, requests received after the prescribed date and time or without the required supporting documents will not be entertained.

Which Details Can Be Corrected?

Eligible candidates may submit requests for minor corrections in the particulars recorded in the merit lists. The notice identifies the following details:

• Date of Birth (DOB)

• Gender

• Name

• Local Resident Certificate (LRC) of Jharkhand

• Caste Certificate

• Income and Assets Certificate

Candidates should clearly mention each correction required in their fresh application and attach the relevant supporting documents.

How to Submit a Jharkhand NEET UG 2026 Correction Request

Candidates whose names are included in the specified merit lists should prepare a fresh application describing the correction or corrections required. The application must be accompanied by the necessary supporting documents and sent by email to the Board.

Important Rules for Category Certificate Verification

JCECEB has specifically clarified the requirements for accepting category-related certificates. ST, SC, BC-I (NCL), BC-II (NCL) and I&A certificates for EWS candidates will be accepted only if issued by an officer not below the rank of Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) of the State of Jharkhand.

Candidates requesting changes to their category or certificate details should carefully verify that their documents meet this requirement before submitting their applications.

The Board has also stated that only representations submitted in accordance with Clause 7 of Advertisement No. JCECEB/46/26-47 dated August 6, 2026, will be considered. Candidates should therefore consult the original advertisement for the applicable conditions.

The State Merit List and related merit lists are used for online counselling for MBBS, BDS and BHMS admissions under the applicable seat categories.
