Maharashtra CAP 2026 Registration: CET Cell Issues Important Guidelines for Engineering, BBA, BCA and Other Professional Courses

The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra has issued a detailed advisory for candidates participating in the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) 2026 for various professional courses. The notification includes important instructions regarding registration, eligibility, reservations, document verification, and admission support.

JEE Main 2026 Score Integration for B.E./B.Tech Admissions

Candidates applying under the All India Candidature for B.E./B.Tech admissions will be considered based on their JEE Main 2026 scores. However, candidates intending to use their JEE Main score must ensure that their JEE Main 2026 Score Card is available in their DigiLocker account.

The CET Cell has advised candidates to complete the following steps:

  • Fetch the JEE Main 2026 Score Card in their personal DigiLocker account.
  • Log in to the CAP portal and fetch the score through DigiLocker to successfully integrate the marks into the admission portal.

Eligibility Expanded for BBA, BCA, BMS and BBM Admissions

The CET Cell has expanded the eligibility criteria for admissions to BBA, BCA, BMS and BBM programmes.

Candidates who appeared for MHT CET 2026 (PCM or PCB Group) are now also eligible to apply for these professional undergraduate courses through the CAP admission process.

Reservation Guidelines

The notification confirms that the following reservation policies will remain applicable:

  • Defence Reservation will be implemented as per the Maharashtra Government rules and the Ministry of Defence guidelines issued by the Government of India.
  • Orphan Reservation will continue as per the Government Resolutions (GRs) issued by the Maharashtra Government's Women and Child Development Department.

NRI and Foreign Category Admissions

Candidates seeking admission under NRI, OCI, PIO, CIWGC, and Foreign National (FN) categories must complete their application through the dedicated admission portal.

The CET Cell has also clarified that admissions for OCI candidates will be governed according to the directions issued by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in WP(C) No. 891/2021.

Scrutiny Centres and Student Support

The list of Physical Scrutiny Centres, eligibility criteria, and admission rules for each programme have been made available on the respective CAP portals.

Candidates facing difficulties while filling out the application form can seek assistance through:

  • Student Facilitation Centres established across Maharashtra districts.
  • Helpline numbers available on the respective CAP portals.
  • The Messaging/Ticketing System provided in each candidate's CAP login dashboard.
