The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has officially announced the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) 2026 schedule for admission to First Year Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programmes offered by government, government-aided, university-managed, and private professional institutes across Maharashtra.

According to Admission Notice No. 3/2026/1725 dated 17 July 2026, eligible candidates can complete online registration from 4 July 2026, while the application window will close on 21 July 2026 at 5:00 PM.

Online Registration and Document Verification

Candidates must register through the official MAHACET portal and choose either:

• E-Scrutiny Mode for online document verification, or
• Physical Scrutiny Mode by visiting a designated Scrutiny Centre (SC) or Facilitation Centre (FC).

Document verification and application confirmation will be conducted from 5 July to 22 July 2026.

Provisional Merit List on July 24

The CET Cell will publish the Maharashtra MCA CAP 2026 Provisional Merit List on 24 July 2026.Candidates who find discrepancies in their application details can submit grievances and upload supporting documents between 25 July and 27 July 2026.

The Final Merit List will be released on 29 July 2026, followed by the publication of the CAP Round 1 Seat Matrix on the same day.

CAP Round 1 Schedule

The first round of counselling will follow this schedule:

• Option Entry & Choice Filling: 30 July to 1 August 2026
• Round 1 Seat Allotment: 3 August 2026
• Seat Acceptance: 4 August to 6 August 2026
• Reporting to Allotted Institute: 4 August to 6 August 2026

Candidates must pay a ?1,000 Seat Acceptance Fee online during their first seat acceptance. The amount is treated as a non-refundable processing fee.

Four CAP Rounds Announced

The CET Cell will conduct four rounds of MCA counselling, with the final CAP Round 4 reporting concluding on 4 September 2026.

Institute-level admissions for vacant seats will continue until 15 September 2026, which is also the final admission cut-off date for the 2026–27 academic session.

Important Instructions

Candidates should note the following:

• Registration alone does not confirm admission.
• Admission will be confirmed only after document verification by the allotted institute.
• Reserved category candidates must produce the required Caste Validity, Tribe Validity, Non-Creamy Layer, or EWS certificates within the prescribed timelines.
• Once the option form is confirmed, preferences cannot be changed for that counselling round.
