North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, has officially started the admission process for the 2026-27 academic session for various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes offered under the School of Technology.
The university is inviting online applications for admission to B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech, MCA, M.Sc. Biotechnology, and Ph.D. programmes. Interested candidates must submit their applications through the prescribed online portals before the notified deadline.
Admissions are open for the following programmes:
For B.Tech admissions, selection will be based on JEE Main 2026 scores, along with applicable university weightage rules.
Candidates applying for B.Arch. must possess a valid NATA score along with the prescribed academic qualifications.
Admissions to M.Tech and MCA programmes will be based on CUET PG scores, while GATE-qualified candidates applying for M.Tech will receive additional weightage as per university rules.
Admission to M.Sc. Biotechnology requires candidates to have appeared in GAT-B 2026, and applicants must upload their GAT-B rank card during the application process.
For Ph.D. admissions, candidates will be selected through UGC-NET/JRF, CSIR-NET, GATE, SLET, ICSSR-NET or equivalent national-level qualifications, or through the university entrance examination followed by an interview, depending on eligibility.
The university has prescribed separate eligibility criteria for every programme.
For undergraduate courses, candidates must have passed 10+2 with the required subjects and minimum qualifying marks.
Postgraduate applicants must possess the relevant bachelor's degree, while Ph.D. applicants should have a Master's degree with at least 55% marks (relaxation applicable for reserved categories) or fulfil the eligibility under the four-year undergraduate degree regulations notified by UGC.
Students awaiting their qualifying examination results are also eligible to apply, subject to university conditions.
NEHU will follow reservation norms for SC, ST and EWS categories.
Additional weightage is also available for eligible candidates belonging to Educationally Backward Areas of Meghalaya, subject to submission of valid certificates in the prescribed format.
