The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has officially commenced the registration process for Seat Allocation and E-Counselling for NIFT Admissions 2026 for Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), and Lateral Entry programmes. According to Notification No. 08 issued by NIFT Headquarters, eligible candidates can register on the official e-counselling portal from June 15 to June 22, 2026.

Candidates who have successfully qualified in the NIFT Admission 2026 selection process and secured a valid Common Merit Rank (CMR) are eligible to participate in the counselling process. NIFT has made it mandatory for all eligible candidates to complete their registration by June 22, 2026, to be considered for seat allocation.

After registration, applicants must fill in their preferences for academic programmes, including their choice of course and campus, by 12:00 midnight on June 25, 2026. Candidates have been advised to carefully verify their eligibility criteria as specified in the NIFT Prospectus and the Seat Allocation Guidelines before proceeding with the counselling process.

NIFT has also instructed candidates to keep all necessary documents ready for upload in PDF format as per the prescribed guidelines. The institute has specified that self-attested copies of valid certificates and annexures should be uploaded, and the size of each document must be between 100 KB and 500 KB. Candidates must ensure that all uploaded documents are clearly legible to avoid rejection during verification.

The institute has urged applicants to thoroughly review the Seat Allocation Guidelines 2026, User Guide, and video tutorials available on the official counselling portal to understand the process and avoid errors while completing registration and choice filling.

Meanwhile, NIFT clarified that candidates applying under the Artisan/Ward of Artisan category will undergo a separate admission process conducted directly by the institute. Such candidates have been advised not to participate in the regular e-counselling process through the portal. Click here
