SSUHS Opens Applications for M.Sc. Nursing Admission 2026 in Assam

The Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) has released an official notification regarding admission to M.Sc. Nursing courses in government and private nursing colleges across Assam for the academic session 2026.

According to the notification, eligible candidates can obtain application forms from the Office of the Principal, Regional College of Nursing, Guwahati, from 7 May 2026 onwards during office hours by paying Rs. 2,000 through a Demand Draft or Banker’s Cheque in favour of "Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences" payable at SBI, GMC Branch, Guwahati.

The last date for submitting completed application forms is 30 May 2026.

Candidates must also pay a non-refundable entrance examination fee of Rs. 5,000 through the online payment gateway available on the SSUHS website. However, candidates belonging to the PwD (Divyang) category are exempted from paying the examination fee.

Entrance Examination Details

The M.Sc. Nursing Entrance Examination 2026 will be conducted on:

• Date: 14 June 2026 (Sunday)
• Venue: Guwahati
• Time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The examination will consist of 50 multiple-choice questions based on the B.Sc. Nursing syllabus. There will be no negative marking.

Candidates can collect their admit cards from the Office of the Principal, Regional College of Nursing, Guwahati, from 10 June 2026 onwards during office hours.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill the following conditions:

• Must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or equivalent recognized by any State Nursing Registration Council.
• Must have passed B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing, or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with at least 55% aggregate marks.
• Must have completed the required nursing qualification from a recognized institution.
• Must possess a minimum of one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
• Candidates with Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing must have at least one year of work experience either before or after the course.
• Must be a citizen of India.
• Candidates seeking admission to Government Nursing Colleges in Assam must be permanent residents of Assam, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.
• Reservation of seats will be as per Assam Government rules.

SSUHS has further stated that the distribution and reservation of seats for admission will be notified separately by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam. The results of the entrance examination will be published on the official SSUHS website.
