Tezpur University, a Central University in Assam, has officially published the Common Merit List for admission to its M.Sc. in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology programme for the 2026–27 academic session. Admissions are being conducted on the basis of GAT-B 2026 scores.

According to the notification issued by the Office of the Controller of Examinations, candidates included in the merit list have been provisionally selected for admission or chance admission, subject to verification of original documents and fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility criteria.

Seat Booking Schedule

Selected candidates must confirm their admission by paying the prescribed admission fee through the SAMARTH Admission Portal according to the following schedule:

• PWD & Unreserved Seats: 20 July to 23 July 2026
• Reserved Category Seats: 24 July to 27 July 2026

The university will send the seat booking link to the candidates' registered email IDs.

Document Verification

Candidates who successfully book their seats must report to the concerned department for physical verification of original documents on:

• 28 July 2026
• 29 July 2026

During verification, candidates must carry:

• Original educational certificates.
• Valid identity documents.
• Prescribed Medical Certificate issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner.
• Other documents specified in the admission notification.

Classes Begin on July 29

Tezpur University has announced that classes for the M.Sc. Molecular Biology and Biotechnology programme will commence from 29 July 2026 following completion of the admission process.

Hostel Availability

The university has informed candidates that hostel accommodation is limited.
