The Higher Education Department, Government of Tripura, has officially announced the admission process for Undergraduate (UG) programmes in Government General Degree Colleges for the 2026-27 academic session. Admissions to the first semester BA, BSc, and BCom (Major) courses will be conducted entirely through the SAMARTH online admission portal.
According to the official notification, admissions will be processed only in online mode, and no offline application forms will be accepted. Students who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination are eligible to apply for admission.
Eligible candidates must complete their registration and submit the online application through the official SAMARTH Admission Portal. During registration, applicants should carefully enter their personal details, Aadhaar information, mobile number, email ID, academic marks, photograph, and other required documents.

Admissions will be granted strictly on the basis of subject-wise merit, reservation policy, and the approved intake capacity of each college.
The merit list will be prepared using the Index Percentage, calculated based on:
The total marks will be divided by six to prepare the merit score.
Students selected in each counselling round must report physically to their allotted college with original documents for verification and admission confirmation.
