The university has clarified that eligible Medical Officers appointed as Job Trainees will be considered under the 33.33% quota reserved for Direct Candidates.

The decision follows an amendment to the Himachal Pradesh Government's PG/Super Specialty Policy through a notification dated 2 November 2026. The revised notice supersedes the university's earlier notice dated 30 October 2026.

Job Trainees Eligible Under the 33.33% Direct Candidates Quota

According to the amended Clause 4(B) on GDO encadrement, eligible contractual appointees and Job Trainees may avail the benefits of the policy for pursuing postgraduate courses, including MD/MS and MDS, against the 33.33% quota reserved for Direct Candidates.

The provision applies to Job Trainees appointed under the Department of Personnel Notification No. PER(AP)-C-B(15)-3/2024 dated 19 July 2025, along with subsequent applicable instructions and notifications.

Eligibility Conditions for Job Trainee Candidates

The university has clarified that Medical Officers appointed as Job Trainees who have already submitted their online application forms for the first round of PG MD/MS/DNB Counselling 2026 and received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Director of Health Services, Himachal Pradesh, will be considered under the Direct Candidates Quota.

The NOC was issued through Letter No. HFW-(1)B(3)/NEET-PG/2026/Job Trainee dated 2 November 2026.

Their candidature will be considered subject to fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility conditions and other applicable provisions of the amended PG/Super Specialty Policy.

Stipend and Bond Conditions for Job Trainees

The amended policy also specifies the following conditions for Medical Officers appointed as Job Trainees who pursue postgraduate courses within Himachal Pradesh:

  • Stipend: Job Trainees pursuing postgraduate courses within the state will receive the stipend applicable to Direct Candidates.

  • Service Bond: Candidates selected for postgraduate courses in government medical or dental colleges within the state must furnish a bond to serve the state for two years.

  • Mandatory Field Posting: The service obligation includes one year of mandatory field posting after completion of the postgraduate course.

  • Bond Amount: The prescribed bond amount for Medical Officers appointed as Job Trainees pursuing postgraduate courses is INR 40 lakh.

  • Remaining Job Trainee Period: After completing the postgraduate course, candidates must serve the remaining period of their Job Trainee tenure. The postgraduate service bond period will begin only after completion of the remaining Job Trainee period.

The revised notice supersedes AMRUHP's earlier Notice No. AMRU/(COE)-Admission129/2026-27 PG (MD/MS) 6681-6684 dated 30 October 2026.

Eligible Job Trainee Medical Officers who have already applied for the first round of PG MD/MS/DNB Counselling 2026 and obtained the required NOC will be considered under the 33.33% Direct Candidates Quota, subject to the amended policy provisions.
