The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has issued an educational notice regarding the ongoing MBBS counselling and admission process for 2026. The notice, dated October 6, 2026, informs candidates that a revised seat matrix has been uploaded following the surrender of an MBBS seat under the SC Category.

According to DME Assam, the revised seat matrix has been issued in pursuance of the order dated October 1, 2026, passed by the Hon'ble High Court in WP(C)/5429/2026.

In view of the revised seat matrix, DME Assam has informed all eligible candidates that they will be allowed to modify their choices before the final locking of choices, if they wish to make changes.
