How to Submit College Preferences

All PPMET 2026 candidates from Punjab and other states can submit their preferences online through the official BFUHS website, www.bfuhs.ac.in.

Candidates should select colleges, categories and quotas according to their admission preferences. They are not required to restrict their choices to colleges or seats appearing in the initial vacancy position. Additional vacancies may arise during the sixth round because of seat upgradation, shifting and the conversion of eligible reserved or NRI category vacancies into open merit, wherever permitted.

Important Instructions for Candidates

1. Seat Surrender Will Not Be Allowed

Candidates allotted a seat during the sixth round will not be permitted to surrender or withdraw that seat. No request for cancellation or surrender will be accepted after allotment. Candidates and their parents or guardians should carefully consider their preferences before participating in counselling.

2. Fill All Preferred Colleges and Quotas

Candidates may include all colleges, categories and quotas in which they are willing to take admission, even if no vacancy is displayed against a particular choice when preferences are submitted. Additional seats may become available due to upgradation or conversion of eligible reserved and NRI category seats into open merit.

3. Upgradation and Shifting of Seats

A candidate may receive an upgraded or shifted seat based on merit and submitted preferences. If a candidate receives a new seat in the sixth round, the seat allotted in any of the first five rounds will become vacant and may be allotted to another eligible candidate.

4. Basis of Seat Allotment

The university will allot seats based on merit and the choices submitted by candidates. Allotment will remain subject to seat availability, applicable reservation policies, eligibility requirements and other counselling rules.

5. Government and Management Quota Preferences

According to the Punjab Government notification mentioned in the counselling instructions, the tuition fee for Government Quota and Management Quota seats is the same. Therefore, candidates are advised to submit preferences for both quotas in the same college.

6. Allotment for Other State Candidates

Candidates from other states will be considered for seat allotment after eligible Punjab candidates have been accommodated. Their allotment will depend on the applicable rules and availability of seats.

7. Conversion of Reserved and NRI Seats

After considering all eligible candidates in the respective reserved and NRI categories, remaining vacant seats may be converted into Open Merit within the respective quota, wherever permitted under applicable government rules and notifications.

Reporting and Admission Process

Candidates who receive seats in the sixth round must report to their respective allotted colleges between November 6 and November 7, 2026. They must complete document verification, eligibility checking and the medical check-up process. The admission fee must be deposited through the online payment gateway available on the BFUHS website.

Candidates should fill their preferences carefully and arrange them in the order in which they wish to receive allotment. Including a college, category or quota in the preference list does not guarantee admission. Final allotment will depend on merit, eligibility, seat availability and applicable rules.
