Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr. NTRUHS), Vijayawada, has released a notification inviting new online applications for the Special Stray Round of Management Quota counselling for MBBS and BDS admissions for the 2026–27 academic session.

The fresh application process is being conducted for available Category-C (NRI Lapsed) seats in MBBS and Category-B and Category-C (NRI Lapsed) seats in BDS courses. The university has issued a common application process for both courses through its online admission portal.

According to the notification dated 04 November 2026, eligible candidates can submit applications within the prescribed schedule. The tentative vacancy list includes 69 MBBS Category-C (NRI Lapsed) seats across 13 medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

Dr. NTRUHS Special Stray Round 2026: Important Dates

The web options schedule for BDS courses will be announced separately. Candidates should regularly check the university website for the BDS counselling schedule.

Application Fee for MBBS and BDS Special Stray Round

Candidates applying for the Special Stray Round must pay the applicable registration or category conversion fee.

The application and processing fees are non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against a future date or admission process. Candidates should verify their eligibility and read the applicable prospectus and counselling regulations before making payment.

MBBS Category-C NRI Lapsed Seat Vacancy 2026

Dr. NTRUHS has published a tentative vacancy list of 69 MBBS seats under the NRI Lapsed Category for the Special Stray Round.

The university has clarified that the vacancy list is tentative and may be updated. Candidates should check the official website for any changes.

Eligibility Criteria for Special Stray Round

Candidates who are not holding any MBBS or BDS seat through earlier rounds of All India Quota or Andhra Pradesh State Quota counselling, including Competent Authority Quota and Management Quota, are eligible to participate.

The following candidates are not eligible:

• Candidates holding an MBBS or BDS seat through any earlier All India Quota or State Quota counselling round, irrespective of the course allotted.

• Candidates allotted seats in the All India Quota Special Stray Round whose names appear in the list to be shared by the Medical Counselling Committee on 07 November 2026.

Candidates who applied for Competent Authority Quota seats cannot use that application for Management Quota admission. They must submit a fresh application under the Management Quota notification.

Documents Required for Online Registration

Candidates must upload scanned copies of the required original certificates and documents during the new registration process.

Applications without mandatory documents, photographs, signatures or complete information will be rejected automatically and will not be considered for merit determination.

NRI Lapsed Category: Affidavit Requirement

Candidates applying under the NRI Lapsed Category must upload a notarised affidavit regarding parental income and the source of funds. The affidavit must be signed by both the parent or guardian and the candidate.

The affidavit should include:

• Parent or guardian's full name and residential address.

• Candidate's name and NEET UG 2026 roll number.

• Total family income for the financial year 2025–26.

• Primary occupation, business or profession of the parent.

• Annual income from salary, business, agriculture or other sources.

• Details of liquid assets, savings or bank support available for education.

• Confirmation of the financial capacity to pay the prescribed tuition and other fees for the entire course duration.

Candidates must use the affidavit format provided in Annexure-II of the university notification.

Security Deposit and Web Options for MBBS Candidates

Candidates exercising web options for MBBS Category-C (NRI) seats must pay a security deposit of INR 3,00,000.

The web options window will remain open from 07 November 2026 at 9:00 AM to 09 November 2026 at 11:00 AM. Candidates should carefully prioritise their college choices before submitting options.

Exercising web options does not guarantee admission. Seat allotment will depend on eligibility, NEET UG 2026 merit and the choices submitted by candidates.

University Fee and Admission Reporting

Selected candidates must pay the university fee of INR 70,100 through the online payment gateway to download their allotment order. Payment can be made using a Debit Card, Credit Card or Internet Banking.

After downloading the allotment order, candidates must report to the Principal of the allotted college within the deadline mentioned in the order. They must carry:

• Original certificates and documents.

• Provisional allotment order.

• Final application copy.

• Required tuition fee for payment at the allotted college.

Admission to the allotted seat is compulsory for candidates selected in the Special Stray Round. Candidates will not be permitted to resign from the seat after joining.

Important Rules for Special Stray Round Candidates

Candidates should carefully follow these instructions issued by Dr. NTRUHS:

• Candidates cannot withdraw from the course until the admission schedule closes.

• Seat blocking and cancellation of MBBS seats are not permitted.

• Legal action may be initiated against candidates involved in seat blocking.

• Incorrect information or forged documents may lead to cancellation of admission without prior notice.

• Securing a merit position does not automatically establish eligibility or guarantee admission.

• Candidates will receive an allotment message if a seat is allotted.

• Classes for the MBBS course have already commenced from 15 September 2026.

• If MBBS seats remain vacant after the reporting deadline, the university may fill them through Special Stray Round 2. Candidates should monitor the university website for updates.

The university has also warned candidates and parents against touts, brokers and middlemen claiming to guarantee medical or dental seats. Admissions are conducted according to NEET UG merit, candidate preferences and applicable rules. Official counselling information will be published only on the university website.
