The Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr. NTRUHS), Vijayawada, has issued a notification regarding the Free Exit facility for candidates who were reported/joined in colleges after Phase-I allotments under MBBS Management Quota (Category-B1/B2) for the academic year 2026-27.
The notification has been issued in continuation of the Phase-I Management Quota allotments released on September 16, 2026.
As per the notification, candidates who have reported to or joined their allotted college in Phase-I are permitted to exit from the reported seat within the specified schedule.
Candidates who wish to use the Free Exit facility must submit their request to the Principal of the concerned college on or before 5:00 PM on September 30, 2026.
After the deadline, no candidate will be permitted to withdraw from the joined seat under Phase-I counselling.

|---|---|
| Phase-I Free Exit Deadline | September 30, 2026, up to 5:00 PM |
| Data Freezing by Principals | September 30, 2026, by 9:00 PM |
| Notification Date | September 29, 2026 |

Candidates seeking Free Exit must submit their requests to the Principal of the concerned medical college in the prescribed format enclosed with the notification.
The Principals have been directed to accept eligible Free Exit requests and return the original certificates and the entire tuition fee along with other fees, if any, to the candidates immediately.
The latest admission data must be frozen by the concerned Principals by 9:00 PM on September 30, 2026.
Candidates who use the Free Exit facility within the prescribed schedule can participate in the Management Quota Phase-II counselling conducted by Dr. NTRUHS.
However, such candidates will have no right to claim the earlier seat from which they did not report or resigned in Phase-I during Phase-II or any subsequent counselling.
Candidates should therefore carefully consider their decision before exercising the Free Exit facility.
Dr. NTRUHS has clarified that candidates who have already resigned from their Phase-I reported/joined seat before the specified date will be considered as “not reported/not joined.”
The seats vacated by such candidates will be filled during Phase-II counselling as per the applicable rules.
After completion of the Free Exit process under Phase-I, candidates who continue to hold Phase-I seats will be considered as part of Phase-II, and the rules applicable to Phase-II counselling will apply to them as specified.
Candidates should therefore follow all instructions issued by Dr. NTRUHS for subsequent counselling stages.
The university has issued an important instruction for candidates who do not utilize the Free Exit facility within the notified schedule.
Candidates who have reported/joined a Phase-I seat but do not use the Free Exit facility within the prescribed deadline cannot resign from the seat during the course of admissions, from Phase-III counselling until closure of admissions.
Therefore, candidates who wish to exit from their Phase-I joined seat should complete the Free Exit process within the notified deadline.
Dr. NTRUHS has specifically stated that all public holidays shall be treated as working days for the purpose of the notified Free Exit process.
Candidates should therefore not assume that a public holiday will extend the deadline.
Candidates should regularly check the official Dr. NTRUHS website for MBBS Management Quota counselling, Phase-II seat allotment, vacant seats, reporting and admission-related updates.
