Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr NTRUHS), Andhra Pradesh, has issued a final notification regarding the Free Exit facility for Phase 1 and Phase 2 PG Dental admissions under Competent Authority Quota (CQ) and Management Quota (MQ) for the academic year 2026-27.
According to Notification No. 5148/EA2/PG/2026 dated 3 November 2026, candidates who joined a PG Dental seat through State Counselling in either phase can use the Free Exit option within the specified period.
| Event | Date and Time |
|---|---|
| Free Exit begins | 3 November 2026, 4:00 PM |
| Free Exit deadline | 5 November 2026, 11:00 AM |
| Deadline for colleges to update resignation data | 5 November 2026, 11:30 AM |
Candidates wishing to resign from their Phase 1 or Phase 2 PG Dental seats must visit their allotted college and complete the resignation process. They must submit the prescribed undertaking to the college principal.
The college principal must ensure that each resignation is entered into the college login system. Colleges must also update the reported, not-reported and resigned candidates' details by 11:30 AM on 5 November 2026.
After updating the information, the principal must download the relevant list, sign it and email it along with the candidate's undertaking to appgadmissions2021@gmail.com.
The college must return the candidate's original certificates, tuition fee and other collected fees after the resignation. If the required process is not completed within the stipulated time, the resignation will be treated as null and void.
Candidates should carefully review the following conditions before submitting their resignation:
Resignation through the Free Exit facility is final and irrevocable.
Candidates will have no claim over the vacated seat after resigning.
Candidates who use Free Exit will not be eligible to participate in Phase 3 or any subsequent counselling.
Vacant seats arising from Free Exit will be included in the Phase 3 counselling process.
Candidates must complete the resignation formalities within the announced schedule. No extension will be provided.
Dr NTRUHS has also clarified the rules applicable to candidates holding seats under Competent Authority Quota and Management Quota from Phase 1 or Phase 2.
If a candidate holding an MQ seat is allotted a CQ seat in Phase 3, the candidate must report to the newly allotted CQ seat. The previously held MQ seat from Phase 1 or Phase 2 will automatically be vacated, even if the candidate does not report to the new CQ seat. The vacated MQ seat will be made available for allocation during MQ Phase 3 counselling.
Candidates allotted or upgraded through CQ Phase 3 will be blocked from participating in MQ Phase 3 counselling, irrespective of their reporting status. This restriction will apply even if they have already exercised web options for MQ counselling.
Candidates who have reported to their allotted seats but do not use the final Free Exit facility within the announced schedule will not be allowed to resign during the ongoing admission process.
However, they may discontinue the course after the admission process concludes, subject to payment of a discontinuance fee of INR 3 lakh, as per the applicable rules.
The university has stated that requests for extending the Free Exit deadline will not be entertained under any circumstances.
Candidates are also prohibited from reporting to seats under State Quota in another state's counselling while holding or reporting to a seat through this counselling process. Instances of dual reporting may attract severe penalties, including possible disqualification.
All participating colleges and institutions must treat Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted holidays as working days to ensure compliance with the counselling schedule.
Candidates resigning from their Phase 1 or Phase 2 PG Dental seats must submit the prescribed undertaking to the principal of their allotted college.
The undertaking requires candidates to provide their name, parent's or guardian's name, NEET MDS roll number and rank, registration ID, allotted college, specialty, quota, contact number and email address.
Candidates must declare that their resignation is final and that they understand they will have no claim over the vacated seat during Phase 3 counselling. The form must be signed and submitted to the college for official acceptance.
Candidates participating in Dr NTRUHS PG Dental counselling 2026-27 should complete all resignation formalities within the notified deadline. They should also confirm that the college has updated their resignation status and returned their original certificates and collected fees.
