The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC & ACPPGMEC), Government of Gujarat, has outlined the procedure for candidates seeking to cancel their confirmed medical admissions. The instructions are relevant to candidates who have confirmed admission after submitting their original documents at a designated Help Center.

According to the procedure issued by the committee, candidates who wish to cancel their admission must personally visit the Help Center where they originally reported for admission. They must submit the prescribed documents to complete the cancellation process and collect their original certificates.

The committee has also clarified that candidates may participate in subsequent counselling rounds after cancelling their admission, subject to the applicable admission rules. The same seat will also be available to the candidate for a subsequent admission round, as stated in the instructions.

Where Should Candidates Go to Cancel Admission?

Candidates who have confirmed their admission and deposited their original documents at a Help Center must visit the same Help Center in person to request cancellation.

If a candidate cannot visit the Help Center, a parent or authorised representative may complete the document collection process on the candidate's behalf. In such cases, the candidate must provide a duly signed Authority Letter. Without this letter, parents or representatives will not be permitted to collect the original documents.

Documents Required for Admission Cancellation

Candidates must submit the following documents to the concerned Help Center:

S. No. Required Document
1 Application requesting cancellation of admission
2 Original admission order issued by ACPPGMEC
3 Photocopy of the fee receipt or challan
4 Self-attested photocopy of the allotment letter for All India Quota, Deemed Universities, Central Universities or other State counselling; alternatively, an admission cancellation application if the candidate has not been admitted anywhere
5 Photocopy of valid identity proof
6 Signed Authority Letter, if a parent or representative is collecting the original documents

Candidates should ensure that all the required documents are available before visiting the Help Center to avoid delays in the cancellation process.

Admission Cancellation Through a Parent or Representative

Candidates who are unable to attend the Help Center personally can authorise a family member or guardian to complete the process and collect their original documents.

The Authority Letter provided by ACPUGMEC/ACPPGMEC requires the candidate to mention relevant identification and admission details, including:

  • Candidate's name and User ID

  • General Merit Number, if applicable

  • NRI Merit Number, if applicable

  • Category Merit Number

  • PwD Category Merit Number, if applicable

  • Reason for being unable to attend personally

  • Name and relationship of the authorised person

  • Candidate's and parent's signatures

  • Signature and personal details of the authority holder

  • Address and contact numbers

The form also provides spaces for recent passport-size photographs of both the candidate and the authority holder.

The candidate must clearly authorise the parent or representative to handle the admission cancellation and receive the original documents.

Identity Proof Required for the Authorised Representative

The person carrying the Authority Letter must bring valid identity proof in both original and photocopy form. The document lists the following accepted identification options:

  • Driving Licence

  • Income Tax PAN Card

  • Passport

  • Election Card

  • Aadhaar Card

Candidates and their representatives should ensure that the Authority Letter is completed and signed before visiting the Help Center.

Fee Adjustment and Refund Rules

The committee has specified different fee-related provisions depending on whether a candidate takes admission in the third round or does not take admission anywhere.

Candidate's Admission Status Fee Treatment
Candidate takes admission in Round 3 Fees will be adjusted.
Candidate does not take admission anywhere Fees will be refunded after completion of the admission process.

Candidates should refer to the committee's official instructions for any additional conditions applicable to their individual admission status.

Can Candidates Participate in Subsequent Counselling Rounds After Cancellation?

As stated in the procedure, the same seat will also be available to the candidate for a subsequent admission round, and candidates can participate in subsequent counselling. Participation remains subject to the applicable counselling rules and eligibility conditions.

Candidates are advised to review the current counselling schedule and relevant instructions before cancelling their admission, particularly if they intend to participate in another round.
