JEE Main 2027 Session 1: NTA Allows Fresh Application Forms for Candidates Who Made Errors

news-img

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a public notice dated 30 October 2026, clarifying the rules for submitting a fresh online application form for JEE Main 2027 Session 1.

The decision follows representations from candidates who reported making errors while filling out their application forms. NTA has allowed such candidates to submit a new application even if they have already generated an application number or paid the examination fee.

However, candidates must follow the conditions specified in the notice to ensure that their application is considered valid.

JEE Main 2027 Fresh Application: Important Dates

Candidates planning to submit a fresh application form should check the following schedule:

Event Date and Time
Last date for fresh application with examination fee 22 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM
Fresh application with late fee 23 November to 26 November 2026, up to 11:50 PM
Application correction facility 27 November to 29 November 2026

Which Application Form Will Be Considered Valid?

NTA has clarified that only the last application form for which the examination fee has been successfully paid and the Confirmation Page has been generated will be considered valid.

If a candidate submits a fresh application but does not complete the fee payment and generate the Confirmation Page, the earlier application for which both steps were completed will remain valid.

A new Application Number will be generated for every fresh application. Candidates must enter all details and upload their photograph, signature and required documents again.

Examination Fee Will Not Be Adjusted or Refunded

Candidates should note that the examination fee paid for an earlier application will neither be refunded nor adjusted against the fresh application.

Therefore, candidates who only need to correct specific details are advised to use the application correction facility instead of submitting a new form. The correction window will remain open from 27 November to 29 November 2026.

Multiple Application Forms and UFM Rules

NTA has also clarified that submitting multiple application forms does not allow candidates to appear more than once in the same examination session.

A candidate who appears or attempts to appear in JEE Main 2027 Session 1 using more than one Application Number will be treated as having used Unfair Means (UFM). Action will be taken as per the Information Bulletin.

However, merely holding more than one Application Number without appearing in the examination using them will not be treated as UFM.

Important Advice for Candidates

Candidates who have made errors in their existing JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application should decide whether they need to submit a fresh form or use the correction facility. Before submitting a new application, they should review all details and documents carefully.

Candidates must also ensure that the fee payment is completed and the Confirmation Page is generated within the prescribed deadline.
