The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has released the detailed schedule for the Special Stray Vacancy Round of online counselling for admission to MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses for the academic year 2026-27.

The press communiqué was issued on November 3, 2026, in compliance with the directions issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), New Delhi, on November 2, 2026, regarding the NEET UG 2026 Special Stray Vacancy Round of State Counselling.

The counselling will cover vacant State Quota seats in BDS and BHMS courses, along with vacant All India seats in MBBS and BDS courses at specified colleges in Jharkhand.

Jharkhand Special Stray Round 2026: Important Dates

JCECEB has announced a common schedule for the different counselling categories covered under the notification.

Candidates should complete their applications and choice filling within the prescribed deadlines. They must also complete document verification and admission formalities during the reporting period.

State Quota BDS and BHMS Counselling

The Board will conduct the Special Stray Vacancy Round for vacant State Quota seats in BDS and BHMS courses. The vacant seat matrix will be displayed on November 3, 2026.

New candidates can submit online applications between November 3 and November 5. The State Merit List for this round will be published on November 6, after which registered candidates can begin choice filling.

Choice filling will remain open until November 9. Provisional allotment letters will be issued from November 10 to 16, while document verification and admission at the concerned institutes will take place from November 11 to 16, 2026.

Category-wise seat exchange: Vacant seats under different reserved categories in the State Quota BDS course will be exchanged during counselling according to the applicable provisions of the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha, Government of Jharkhand, if eligible reserved-category candidates are unavailable.

All India Quota MBBS Special Stray Vacancy Round

JCECEB will also conduct a Special Stray Vacancy Round to fill vacant All India seats in MBBS courses at the following institutions:

• Laxmi Chandravansi Medical College and Hospital, Palamu

• Sido Kanhu Medical College and Hospital, Dumka

• Birsa Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Khunti

The counselling will follow the same schedule announced by the Board. New candidates can apply from November 3 to 5, and the merit list will be published on November 6.

Choice filling will take place from November 6 to 9. Provisional allotment letters will be issued between November 10 and 16, followed by document verification and admission from November 11 to 16, 2026.

All India Quota BDS Special Stray Vacancy Round

The Special Stray Vacancy Round will also cover vacant All India seats in BDS courses at the following dental colleges:

1. Vananchal Dental College and Hospital, Garhwa, under Babu Dinesh Singh University, Garhwa.

2. Awadh Dental College and Hospital, Jamshedpur.

The application, merit list, choice-filling, allotment and admission schedule for these colleges will remain the same:

• Online application: November 3 to 5, 2026

• Merit list publication: November 6, 2026

• Choice filling: November 6 to 9, 2026

• Provisional allotment letters: November 10 to 16, 2026

• Document verification and admission: November 11 to 16, 2026

Who Needs to Submit a Fresh Online Application?

The notification clarifies that candidates whose names are already included in the State Merit List or Merit List released on October 19, 2026, do not need to submit another online application for this counselling round.

Other eligible new candidates must complete the online application process within the announced registration window. Candidates should check the detailed eligibility conditions and counselling instructions before applying.

The Special Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted according to the guidelines issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
