The online counselling process will begin on November 3, 2026, at 11:30 AM and remain open until midnight on November 5, 2026. Eligible candidates must submit fresh preferences during the specified period to be considered for seat allotment.

The Board has specified the following categories of candidates eligible to participate in the stray round:
Candidates who did not receive a seat in any of the previous counselling rounds.
Candidates who were allotted a seat in an earlier round but did not join the allotted institution.
NEET UG 2026-qualified candidates who did not participate in any previous counselling round. These candidates must pay a counselling fee of INR 1,500 before filling in their preferences.
Candidates who have already joined an institution and are holding a seat are not eligible to participate in this round.
JK BOPEE has clarified that all seats available in the stray round will be treated as Open Merit seats. During the mop-up round, reserved category seats that remained vacant were converted into Open Merit seats under the proviso to Section 9(2) of the J&K Reservation Act, 2004.
Therefore, candidates interested in the available seats should review the seat matrix before submitting their preferences.
Candidates must submit fresh choices for the stray round, even if they had filled preferences during previous counselling rounds. The preferences submitted earlier will be cancelled and will not be considered for this round.
Candidates who fail to submit fresh preferences within the choice-filling period will not be considered for seat allotment. They will also have no claim over seats allotted to candidates who participate in the stray round.
JK BOPEE has issued the following instructions for candidates participating in the stray round:
Candidates should carefully check the available seats before submitting their preferences.
A seat allotted during this round cannot be changed.
Candidates must join the allotted institution within the stipulated period notified by the Board.
If an allotted candidate fails to join or complete the required admission formalities, the allotment will be cancelled and the candidate's claim to the seat will cease.
The detailed seat matrix will be uploaded separately on the Board's website.
Candidates should read the seat matrix carefully before participating in counselling.
The other terms and conditions will remain unchanged as mentioned in the e-Information Brochure and previous notifications issued by JK BOPEE.
Candidates can visit the official JK BOPEE website for the detailed seat matrix, counselling updates and further instructions.
