The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued a corrigendum dated September 25, 2026, regarding the UGNEET-2026 third-round seat allotment process.
The corrigendum, issued under No. ED/KEA/CR-11/UGNEET/2026, has been released in view of the nationwide bank strike. KEA has clarified the categories of candidates who will be eligible and ineligible to participate in the third round of counselling.
The authority has also revised the deadline for payment of the caution deposit for medical and dental courses to October 1, 2026.
As per the corrigendum, the following candidates will be eligible to participate in the third round of UGNEET-2026 counselling:
Candidates who have not been allotted any medical seat in the first or second round will be eligible to participate in the third round.
Candidates who were allotted a medical or dental seat but subsequently cancelled the seat by paying the prescribed penalty will also be eligible for third-round participation.
Candidates who were allotted a medical or dental seat in the first round and selected Choice-4 will be eligible to participate in the third round, as specified by KEA.
Candidates who exercised the ‘QUIT’ option before the final results of the second round will also be eligible to participate in the third round.
Candidates who have reported to a medical or dental college can participate in the third round for upgradation, subject to the applicable rules and recent orders of the Hon’ble High Court.
KEA has also clarified the category of candidates who will not be eligible for third-round participation.
Candidates who were allotted a medical or dental seat in the first or second round but failed to exercise the required choice will not be eligible to participate in the third round.
Candidates should therefore carefully check their previous-round allotment and choice status before attempting to participate in Round 3.
One of the key updates in the corrigendum is the revised deadline for payment of the caution deposit for medical and dental courses.
The last date for payment of the caution deposit has been fixed as:
October 1, 2026
Candidates who are required to pay the caution deposit should complete the payment within the revised deadline.
