Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, has issued the prospectus for admission to MD Unani courses under the Competent Authority Quota for the academic year 2026-27. The admissions are for the Government Nizamia Tibbi College, Hyderabad, affiliated with KNRUHS.

Candidates who have qualified in AIAPGET 2026 for the Unani postgraduate course and meet the eligibility conditions can submit their applications online. The application process will begin at 8:00 AM on November 3, 2026, and close at 2:00 PM on November 9, 2026.

The university will announce the provisional merit list, certificate verification schedule, web-option dates and admission closure date separately through its official website.

Candidates should read the prospectus and application instructions available on the KNRUHS website before starting the registration process. Applications will be accepted online only. The university will not accept offline applications.

KNRUHS MD Unani Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil the following eligibility conditions to apply for MD Unani admission:

• Candidates must have qualified AIAPGET 2026 for the Unani postgraduate course and be included in the relevant merit list.

• Applicants must hold a BUMS degree from a university or statutory body recognised under the Second Schedule of the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970.

• Candidates must have completed their compulsory internship or housemanship by October 31, 2026.

• Applicants must satisfy the local candidate requirements prescribed under Telangana Government Order G.O. Ms. No. 149, dated October 28, 2024.

• Candidates who are already pursuing MD Unani must discontinue the course, pay the applicable bond amount and refund the stipend received up to that date before applying. They must also submit a discontinuance certificate.

• Candidates who already hold a postgraduate degree in Unani are not eligible to apply for another PG Unani course.

Minimum AIAPGET 2026 Qualifying Percentile

Candidates must secure the following minimum qualifying percentile in AIAPGET 2026:

Eligibility for In-Service Candidates

In-service candidates must have completed at least three years of regular service as of October 31, 2026. Their eligibility and admission to the reserved in-service seats will be subject to Telangana Government rules, availability of seats and the required deputation orders.

Candidates working on a contract, consolidated pay, daily honorarium or ad hoc basis will not be treated as regular service candidates. The service period must be certified by the Director of AYUSH, Telangana.

KNRUHS MD Unani Seat Reservation

The prospectus specifies the following reservation provisions under the Competent Authority Quota:

The 15% SC reservation will be distributed as follows:

• SC Group I: 1%

• SC Group II: 9%

• SC Group III: 5%

The university will follow the applicable Telangana Government orders for reservation rationalisation. If qualified candidates are unavailable in the SC or ST categories, the reserved seats may be transferred between these categories and subsequently to the general pool, as prescribed in the prospectus.

KNRUHS MD Unani Application Fee

Candidates must pay the applicable non-refundable registration and processing fee while submitting the online application.

Bank transaction charges will be additional. The application fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selected candidates must also pay a university fee of INR 15,000 through the payment gateway to download their allotment orders. This fee is non-refundable.

Tuition fees, college fees and caution deposits will be charged according to the applicable Government rules. If a candidate is allotted another course in a subsequent counselling phase, the previously paid tuition fee will be adjusted against the newly allotted course and will not be refunded separately.

Documents Required for KNRUHS MD Unani Application

Candidates should keep scanned copies of the required certificates ready before starting the online application. The documents include:

1. AIAPGET 2026 Unani hall ticket.

2. AIAPGET 2026 rank card.

3. SSC marks memo or date of birth certificate.

4. Provisional or original BUMS degree certificate.

5. BUMS study certificates.

6. Marks memos from the first year to the final year of BUMS.

7. Compulsory rotatory internship certificate.

8. Study certificates from Class 6 to Intermediate, wherever applicable.

9. Caste or social status certificate, if applicable.

10. Latest service certificate issued by the Director of AYUSH, if applicable.

11. Medical council registration certificate.

12. EWS certificate valid for 2026-27, if applicable.

13. PWD certificate, if applicable.

14. Aadhaar card.

15. Recent passport-size photograph and specimen signature.

The prospectus specifies PDF files of up to 500 KB for the listed certificate uploads. The scanned photograph and signature used in the application form must be in JPEG/JPG format and below 100 KB.

Candidates must produce their original certificates during verification and submit the required documents at the allotted college.

How to Apply for KNRUHS MD Unani Admission 2026-27

Candidates can follow these steps to complete the online application:

1. Visit the official AYUSH counselling portal at http://tsmdayush.tsche.in.

2. Open the Mobile and Email Registration section and enter a valid mobile number and email address.

3. Verify both contact details using the OTPs received.

4. Complete the candidate registration form with the required information.

5. Proceed to the payment gateway and pay the applicable registration fee.

6. Note the registration number received on the registered mobile number and email address.

7. Log in using the AIAPGET roll number and registration number.

8. Update the application details and upload the required photograph and signature.

9. Upload all mandatory certificates in the prescribed format.

10. Save and print the completed application form for future reference.

Candidates should not refresh or close the payment page until the successful payment confirmation appears. They are advised to use a desktop computer or laptop rather than a mobile phone, tablet or iPad while completing the application.

After submitting the application, candidates should note the barcode application number printed on the form. The printed application form must be signed, and the candidate must paste a recent passport-size photograph in the designated space. The photograph should be attested by a Gazetted Officer or the college Principal, as specified in the prospectus.

KNRUHS MD Unani Merit List and Counselling Process

The university will prepare the merit list based on the AIAPGET 2026 Unani rank and percentile obtained by eligible candidates.

The selection process will include original certificate verification and the exercise of web options. Candidates will be required to select their preferred subjects in order of priority. The Selection Committee will make provisional selections based on merit, eligibility, available seats and applicable reservation rules.

The university has specified that candidates can exercise their options only once, irrespective of the number of counselling phases. Candidates who fail to attend certificate verification and exercise options will not be considered for subsequent selection against the courses available at that stage.

The provisional merit list, verification schedule and counselling details will be announced separately. Candidates should regularly check the KNRUHS website for updates.

Admission Conditions and Bond Requirements

Candidates selected for admission must execute a bond on INR 100 non-judicial stamp paper. If a student leaves the course midway, the student will be required to pay INR 1,00,000 to KNRUHS and refund the stipend received up to that date to the Government.

The bond must be supported by two sureties who are permanent Gazetted Officers of the Telangana or Andhra Pradesh Government.

Other important admission conditions include:

• Candidates must pay the prescribed fees and submit the required original certificates to confirm admission.

• Selected candidates must maintain at least 85% attendance in each subject before appearing for the final examination.

• The MD Unani course duration is three years.

• Candidates must complete the course within a maximum period of six years.

• Private practice, consultation practice and part-time employment are not permitted during the postgraduate course.

• Stipend may be paid according to Telangana Government orders, subject to attendance and academic progress. The stipend period cannot exceed 36 months.

• Service candidates drawing leave salary or regular salary will not be eligible for a stipend.

• Candidates must submit the mandatory anti-drug undertaking signed by themselves and their parent or guardian.

• Transfers between colleges or courses are not permitted after the closure of admissions.
