The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, Admission Branch, has issued the schedule for the Third Round of Online Counselling for admission to the B.Sc Nursing Course under PPMET-2026 for the academic session 2026.

The schedule is dated August 18, 2026 and includes the timeline for seat surrender, vacancy publication, preference submission, provisional allotment and admission.

Punjab B.Sc Nursing Counselling 2026: 3rd Round Schedule

The third round counselling process will begin with the surrender of seats by candidates who wish to leave their seats from the earlier rounds.

All qualified PPMET-2026 candidates from Punjab and other states can submit their preferences through the official BFUHS website, subject to the applicable eligibility and counselling rules.

Seat Surrender Deadline for Round 1 and Round 2 Candidates

Candidates who joined seats allotted during the 1st or 2nd Round of counselling but now wish to surrender their seats can do so at their respective colleges up to September 21, 2026.

Candidates who surrender their seats within the prescribed deadline will remain eligible to participate in the 3rd Round of Online Counselling.

Candidates should complete the surrender process at the concerned college within the specified date.

Choice Filling for 3rd Round

Candidates participating in the third round are advised to submit their preferences for colleges, categories and quotas in the order in which they wish to be considered for allotment.

An important instruction from BFUHS is that candidates do not have to restrict their choices only to seats shown as vacant in the initial vacancy position.

Candidates can also select colleges or seats that are not initially shown as vacant because additional vacancies may arise during the third round.

How Additional Vacancies May Arise

According to BFUHS, additional seats may become available because of:

• Shifting or upgradation of candidates from one college, category or quota to another.
• Surrender or vacation of seats by candidates admitted during the 1st and 2nd rounds.
• Conversion of unfilled reserved category or NRI seats into Open Merit seats, wherever permitted under applicable Government rules and notifications.

Therefore, candidates are advised to include all colleges, categories and quotas in which they are willing to take admission, even if a vacancy is not reflected at the time of submitting preferences.

Upgradation and Shifting of Seats

During the third round, candidates may receive an upgraded or shifted seat based on their merit and submitted choices.

If a candidate receives an upgraded or shifted seat, the seat allotted during the 1st or 2nd Round will stand vacated and may subsequently become available for allotment to another eligible candidate.

Candidates should therefore fill their preferences carefully and include only those colleges, categories and quotas where they are genuinely willing to take admission.

Basis of Seat Allotment

BFUHS will make third-round seat allotment on the basis of:

• Merit
• Candidate's submitted choices/preferences
• Availability of seats
• Applicable reservation policy
• Eligibility conditions
• Other Government and University counselling rules

Merely including a college, category or quota in the preference list does not guarantee allotment of a seat.

Government and Management Quota Preferences

BFUHS has also highlighted the Government and Management Quota preferences.

According to the notification, the tuition fee for Government Quota and Management Quota seats is the same as per the Punjab Government notification.

Therefore, candidates are advised to submit preferences for both Government Quota and Management Quota seats of the same college if they are willing to accept admission under either quota.

Other State Candidates

Candidates belonging to states other than Punjab will be considered for seat allotment after exhausting the eligible Punjab State candidates, subject to the applicable rules and availability of seats.

Other-state candidates should therefore carefully check the applicable eligibility and quota conditions before submitting their choices.

Conversion of Reserved and NRI Seats

After all eligible candidates belonging to the respective reserved categories and NRI category have been considered, unfilled seats may be converted into Open Merit seats in the respective quota wherever such conversion is permitted under applicable Government rules and notifications.

This may result in additional seats becoming available during the third round.

NRI and Foreign National Candidates

Candidates seeking admission under the NRI/Foreign National category must obtain the prescribed Eligibility Certificate within the specified timeline.

The last date for obtaining the Eligibility Certificate is:

September 22, 2026

Joining and Admission After Allotment

Candidates who are allotted seats in the third round must report to their respective allotted college from:

September 26 to September 30, 2026

During this period, candidates will be required to complete:

• Joining formalities
• Document verification
• Eligibility verification
• Medical check-up
• Fee payment through the online payment gateway available on the BFUHS website

The joining process must be completed by 2:00 PM on September 30, 2026.
