The admission cut-off date applies to AYUSH undergraduate courses for the 2026-27 academic year.

Penalty for Delay in Admission Data Upload

NCISM and NCH have specified a penalty for institutions that fail to upload admitted students' data within the prescribed deadline. A penalty of INR 1,00,000 per day will be levied on colleges and institutes for failing to submit the admission data by 30 November 2026, on or before 6 PM.

Counselling authorities must also complete the uploading of admitted students' data for all rounds on the NCISM/NCH portal by 5 December 2026.

Instructions for State and UT Counselling Authorities

The notification highlights the need for State and UT counselling authorities to begin their AYUSH counselling processes according to the prescribed schedule.

The authorities have been directed to:

  • Follow the revised counselling timelines for the 2026-27 academic session.

  • Prepare and publish detailed round-wise counselling schedules on their respective websites.

  • Give wide publicity to the counselling schedules.

  • Conduct sufficient stray vacancy rounds to fill available seats before the admission cut-off date.

  • Share vacant seat data with the Central Government, AACCC and NCISM on the last day of reporting for every round.

  • Ensure timely uploading of admitted students' data on the relevant portals.

The notification states that delays in State and UT counselling in previous academic years created difficulties for candidates in selecting colleges and completing admission formalities. Such delays also led to candidate ineligibility for counselling, forfeiture of security deposits, grievances and litigation.

AYUSH UG Courses Covered Under the Schedule

The revised counselling schedule applies to the following undergraduate courses:

  • Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

  • Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)

  • Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS)

  • Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)

The schedule has been issued in accordance with the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (National Examinations for Indian System of Medicine) Regulations, 2023, and the National Commission for Homoeopathy Examination Regulations, 2023.

Candidates should check the respective Central or State/UT counselling authority's website for detailed round-wise schedules, registration instructions, seat allotment updates and reporting requirements.
